I purchase this to use to plug holes etc.. (repels rodents) as it rusts more slowly than regular steel wool - BUT it still rusts - make no mistake. Just have to be honest.

I've bought so many steel wool products that claim to be *stainless steel* wool but are not - they're just regular old garden variety steel wool that rusts the instant you begin to use it and turns to powder in your hands. I had an appication where stainless steel wool would work better by lasting longer - not rusting or breaking up. This steel wool did the job.

Edit, is stainless but magnetic version

This works great for filling holes to keep mice out! Love that it's SS and won't rust when used in wet areas!! Just be careful when ripping into sections - the the individual strands will easily cut through your skin! Very obvious but easy to forget. :-)

I've had the same pad on the sink since I bought these--about a month--and it still hasn't rusted, even with repeated use! So happy! I'd rather pay a bit more than the usual kitchen steel wool pads and get something useful than pay less for something that basically I get to use once before needing to throw away and use a new one.
