Works as expected
I forgot to replace my filter for a year and well I needed a replacement. This looked exactly like the filter I used for last time so I bought it. Installed it and it working as expected. No problems as Its the correct size. Will buy again in 6 months. This time not forgetting to replace it for a year. Changing a water filter sucks when you have no water to clean the housing. Lesson Learned and will have a bucket of water for cleaning. Also not replacing during a freezing winter can help also.

Works very well. I will buy it again.
The filter worked very well. The city did some water pipe repairs locally and mud came down the line. The filter was replaced by a plumber after only 3 days. A simple white filter was covered with dirt. The water quality in the house remained excellent. It saved a lot of money replacing fixtures etc.

Appears to have made a difference
Maybe coincidence but I’m writing because it may help someone, I sure didn’t know how to deal with it. We have a rain catchment system here in New Mexico that feeds the house supplementing public water. We also had what we used to call a 100 year storm (probably becoming normal now) that flooded everything. We presume it overran the tank with groundwater First I filled the dog’s bowl and it was brownish and the toilet also was filling with sediment so I changed the overdue filters. What happened next was the strangest thing I’ve seen and no one I’ve found can explain it. Perhaps a chemist reading here might explain. The water came out of the tap looking exactly like dishwater, soapy as if full of detergent. It poured into a pitcher with a head on it that you could scoop out by hand (photo). Eventually it came out looking more like milk. I let some sit for a couple of days (glass in background) thinking it must be air bubbles, but after two days it had indeed settled a bit but remained a foggy gray. No odor or anything but it looked weird. We had a 25 micron paper filter ahed of the carbon 10 micron filter and started wondering if the paper filter was adequate. I shut off the rain water until this new filter arrived. It may be coincidence or time, all I know is that since I swapped in this filter and turned the rain water back on the water has been clear. I was concerned about flow dropping from a 25 to a 5 micron filter but there’s been no perceptible change. FYI

Nice filter and good fit for the big blue.
Fits the 20 inch big blue perfectly. Keep some replacement o-rings on hand as after some time the will lose their form and leak. I installed this in the water line coming into the house from my well between the well and the pressure tank. Specifically in front of a water treatment system intended to reduce lime scale in my water. Plus I was tired of cleaning aerators on my faucets. I know the filter is working immediately as there is no longer particles in my water. A strange side effect is getting brown or blackish streaks in my toilet bowls where the water streams down from the tank at the rim of the bowls. This happened at a previous property I had where I installed a filter system on an existing water system. After a couple of months this cleared up and I expect it will this tie as well. Is this because the water is now more clean and the lines are clearing up? Not sure but as this happened on a previous property this leads me to believe this filter is doing its job.
