The Art and Practice of Geomancy: Divination, Magic, and Earth Wisdom of the Renaissance (Art & Practice Series) Review: Beyond Excellent - This book us brimming-over with excellent, well organized information. The author is very creative in his approach to the Oracle, and passes on some great ideas for magickal and meditative use of the figures. I'm especially grateful for the information and symbols of the Spirit Intelligences related to the various topics of questions asked when divining. There's a lot if deeply detailed information packed into this book. Enough to spend many happy hours delving into the 16 archetypically-powerful figures. I've thought of myself as well-versed, especially in the divinatory aspects if Geomancy. But this book is expanding my understandings way outside the proverbial lines, and of the proverbial table! I love knowing how little and limited my knowkedge is, because I get to duve into the adventure of learning! Kudos, Mr. Greer! KINDLE QUALITY ALERT: All the images in the Kindle edition are too small - even when magnified - to view properly. I have notified desertcart about the issue. I highly recommend spending the little extra money for the hard-copy book. It's well worth it. Review: Versitile, Simple, and Accurate - I love geomancy because it's a very versatile and simple system of divination. You can use a myriad of tools to be able to cast a geomantic chart, anything from dice, playing cards, tarot cards, stick/earth, bag of pebbles/rocks/marbles. Tarot requires the usage of the deck which can get damaged or lost. Astrology relies on complex computer programs that may not be available in times of financial strife like the coming depression. No matter what, geomancy can be used under any circumstances with even the most meager of tools. All one has to do is have this book or commit the information to memory like in the old days. Geomancy is a very powerful and accurate system of divination, and John Greer did a wonderful job on this book not only showing geomancy, but geomantic magick as well. 10 Stars!

Opens a whole new world
Geomancy has always been an arcane mystery and seemed to be a great toil to learn. Until now. This book details the process and demystifies the world of geomancy and geomantic magic. Simply explained and greatly expanded. Highly recommended.

The best text on geomancy I've encountered.
This is a pretty detailed resource on Geomancy. The only problem is that some sections lack explanation, like advanced methods for interpteting the charts, there's enough info to interpret one, but I found myself re-reading the section wondering "Am I doing this right?". I think the biggest problem area in those regards is favorable/unfavorable aspects & perfection of charts. If you're going to use it for basic things, the text is enough to get started. I have found several readings I did were very accurate. Overall it's a must have for any student of divination. If you're into magick or the esoteric arts, then you should also pick it up. If they expand the text into a second edition, I'll pick that up too.

Brilliant book. I use this pretty much every week ...
Brilliant book. I use this pretty much every week as I work my way through the curriculum in Mr. Greer's other book, the CELTIC GOLDEN DAWN. Daily now since 2013, I've been doing a geomancy shield reading, which I learned how to do in this book. This work is teaching me advanced techniques, processes for understanding my divinations after I've done them, and helped me develop a broader set of advanced skills through memory work, ritual, scrying and regular practice. It comes off the shelf at least twice a week, sometimes more. A great teaching tool, and once learned — a great reference work as well!

It's short, practical and most of all works.
I really enjoyed this book and the audio book that went with it. I actually listened to the audio book twice as well as bought the Kindle version of the book. It's a fantastic divination system with lots of depth and it actually works.

Great read
This text goes into great history and detail about this method of divination. It is for someone who already knows the basics and wants to hone the craft. The detail in this book is amazing. a must red for the serious practitioner and the avidly curious alike.

This book is well thought out, and is very clear about how to perform the various operations to generate the shield for interpretation. There are still some bits that are unfamiliar to me, but going through the processes slowly is, for me, the only way to approach this sometimes very complicated subject. I would highly recommend this book to those who are beginning, and beyond. I have a friend who is also very interested in geomancy and she had a look over the book for a short glance, and is buying her own copy. She has been dabbling in geomancy a lot longer than I, and so that really is something to attest to. I also found the pointing of the way description really useful, because I had trouble finding out its significance or what to use its significance for within the readings. The quick and simple answers that you can obtain, using the methods described are excellent, and I just wish I had seen this book sooner. If you need to know anything about this subject, don't hesitate, buy this book, you wont be sorry.

The book is a great source of knowledge for the Geomancer. I have read all the books available on Geomancy and I think this is the most comprehensive one. So far I own 2 of these in my collection. Thank you
