Always fascinated with tales of Man Singh, This book is very well written. Glory to Rajah Man Singh Rathore,

Interesting read from one of the very good authors

It gives a glimpse of post independent India and the still persisting lack of law enforcement for the poor. When such incidents become regular people like Man Singh will disregard the law and take things to own hands creating chaos and an ever widening gap between social and economical classes. The author has depicted the incidents with very lively use of English but I feel he is still bit awestruck with the legacy of Man singh.

This is a wonderful account of India's own Robin Hood, i.e. Man Singh, the terror of Chambal. He robbed the rich to help the poor and he even meted out punishment but only after hearing out both the parties which can be said to be just and impartial. This is the only non wildlife book from renowned hunter and naturalist, Kenneth Anderson. The way of telling Man Singh's tale is so captivating and worth reading not once but many times. Only a writer of Anderson's capability could have done justice to it.

The story of Raja Man Singh Rathore brought tears in my eyes. He should be remembered as a great soul India has ever produced. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
