From the days of my early youth my father would tell me I had no sense of smell, and I needed to always wear a scent. Do you think I became a little insecure? A- ha! My father did not sweat, and after moving to Florida, neither did my mom. Wow, I loved Ft. Lauderdale, in my youth, and many of my wonderful memories also included sweating. I did not spritz sweat a little, It would start in my hair and pour down causing me to go temporarily blind. I guess you could say the full shower. In the late 70's my dad gave me a pair of boots from Allen Edmonds, and I loved them. The problem was I rarely cleaned them, and any time I was a passenger in his car he would smell me. He had some type of super nose, and I would wither from 6'4 to 2' nothing. That man would just stare and I could feel myself slipping out from my seat belt. When I would purchase the hotest new scent, he would tell me it was worse than monkey pi*s, it was Rhinoceros pi*s! I often thought about opening the window so I could throw my manhood out, it was useless for me... 40 years later, and saying goodbye dad, I put my life together, as most men do, and carried on. I can't remember what turned me on to Ideal, but I blind purchased this bottle that arrived today. I spritz, closed my eyes, and I was hypnotized. I felt so fine, lost in happy memories. When I finally pulled my nose off my wrist, I thought... man, my dad would have loved this, and he would be so proud. I do not suggest this is a granddad smell, nor a remembrance scent. Ideal, just makes you feel like you are finally that "all put together" man. Like everything is "smooth sailing", so to speak. This is a blind buy, and I could not be happier. The scent is unlike anything I have known, but in a very very good way. I believe Ideal would make a great signature scent. PS, and by the way, the bottle design reminds me of my parent's ash trays at our Manhattan address, which were very nice. The spray nozzle is excellent, so be judicious with the finger.

Really beautiful tobacco note in here. Getting in the shower the next day I still get some warm and powdery notes. I got it for just under $100 and it might be the best value in my collection of 50+ bottles.

I ordered both ideal and extreme and I hated the ideal I found it to be too strong even after 3 sprays and felt it wasn’t masculine scent and gave it to my wife I also have extreme which is masculine and smells nice and not too strong .

Excellent cologne, warm notes of cherry vanilla liqeur, decent duration, and its projection is more initimate than far reaching, really subtle. Highly recommend. Definitely buying again. Sweet, warm, charming, can be either masculine or feminine, but i think its more suitable for a playful masculine aroma.

There are few on the market today that can match L'homme Ideal EDP for uniqueness, and even fewer that can do so at a price point near this . Some niche houses, maybe (although I'm sure some would argue that Guerlain is a niche house lol). The cherry and almond combined with the richness of the overall composition make this a versatile, masculine, strong projecting fragrance that has a ton of longevity as well. All of the talk of reformulation? I cannot tell the difference in strength between my older (almost gone) bottle (from 2017 or so) and the one I received a couple weeks ago (new label style) ordered 8-23. I recommend it 100%. If you want a more unique fall/winter/evening fragrance that has good longevity and sillage, this is a worthy pickup.

At first when I first tested this on my arm, I didn’t like it so much. The alcohol overpowers for the first 20 minutes of the scents life on either skin or clothes. When I actually smelled the fragrance, I fell in love. Best way to describe it is a sweet and smoky vanilla fragrance with a heavy dose of cherry. But the smoke in this fragrance is not like a Gaiac wood or an oud. It’s more smooth like a cedar wood with incense, it’s so subtle yet it does the job. I haven’t done a test yet because I bought a winter time fragrance in the spring; how interesting! But I can tell this will be a new signature winter fragrance of mine. By the way if you are a fan of Aqua Di Gio Profumo or anything from aqua di gio or Parfums de Marly Layton, give this one a go for sure. This scent lasts about 7 hours on skin and roughly 10 hours on clothes. Solid fragrance for around the $60 range coming from a $142 and $230 price point. Don’t worry about quality either, the quality in this fragrance is also very good too. Nothing smells cheap, or synthetic.

Absolutely love it! Blind bought this and it has become my daily scent for the winter. I smell a cherry coke and nutty soft leather on the opening, and it dries down to a soft woody almond milk scent after a couple of hours. 3 sprays around the neck and a couple of sprays on the shoulders lasts me a good 7hrs. Projection is mid and I get a 2-3ft projection for the first 2hrs and it stays around a foot for the remainder of the 7hrs for me. If you're the type that likes that "Beast Mode" fragrance, you're gonna be disappointed. This is subtle, classy, and an inviting type scent meant more for events like a wedding, intimate gatherings, and can work for dates. With that being said, it can also make a great signature scent that can be used for all seasons. One of my favorite in my small collection and I give thus fragrance a 4.7 out of 5.
