Makes taking pictures more enjoyable and looks good too, good quality. Make sure you buy the right one for the right lens, I bought the wrong one, but I actually owned the lens it fit.

The hood came with the 35mm f1.4 GM has felt lining and a click to lock and unlock, it’s very well made. The reason I bought this hood is the GM hood takes up large space in my bag so I often left it at home and I want to protect the lens from my clumsiness. This metal hood is not a screw on so it fit in place and doesn’t need an additional ring to lock the hood position. One thing I hate about that type of screw on hood is it will get loose over time and I have to reposition the hood every so often. So this is good. The only thing. maybe just mt copy, doesn’t click to lock in place like another hood I bought for my 40mm f2.5 G lens. Also the tread is 67mm, same size for 24mm f1.4 GM, but it doesn’t fit. Overall, I’m happy with it.

Since having owned Leica rangefinder cameras, I’ve had a fondness for compact, metal, rectangular lens hoods. Haoge lens hoods are every bit as good as Leica hoods, if not better. Now I can enjoy them with my Sony cameras with Sony and Sigma lenses. Truly well made gear.

Why not a 5-star rating then? They shipped a used item first. The first one came delivered inside a simple plastic bag slotted more for used items. There are signs of usage for sure; well, the cap has 2 dings on the edge. I immediately requested a return and a replacement. The second item came in a sealed Haoge box and it was brand new. Finally! Not sure whether it was more Amazon or Haoge that shipped the first order...

The lining in the lens cap does not stay put. I’ve tried fixing it but after taking the cap on and off 2-3 times the lining gets smushed down. And the cap doesn’t stay on without it.

I've been buying most of my lens hood under haoge brand. And they never dissapoint. Also if fits perfect with a mist filter on as well. 😎👌

This is not cheap but is great quality and fits very solidly. It provides good flare and impact protection and looks unique while doing it. The best part is the design barely adds any size to the lens, less than an inch in length and a few millimeters in diameter. This hood is pricy but so is the lens it is made for. Five stars, would 100% recommend!

It’s perfect for the 35mm f1.4. Better than any other lens cap I own, solid metal, convenient open and close, I can even leave my filters on. Completely worth the money.
