Stopped working - I’ve had this for nearly a year, however only just recently needed to use it and it’s just completely dead. I’ve tried it in various laptops but it’s just not recognised / not visible. Very disappointed.

I recently purchased the 1TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive, enticed by its promise of universal compatibility and the convenience of power via USB. However, my experience has been less than satisfactory. Despite its claims, I found the process of making this drive work with my gaming console more complicated than anticipated. The need to format the drive for certain games consoles was an unexpected hurdle, and the online instructions were not as straightforward as suggested. Moreover, while the drive's dimensions are compact, the build quality leaves much to be desired. The plastic casing feels flimsy and I'm genuinely concerned about its durability over time. The included USB 3.0 Type C cable, at a mere 30cm, is restrictively short, limiting where I can place the drive relative to my laptop or console. The drive's performance did not live up to expectations either. While it's advertised to leverage the faster speeds of USB 3.0, data transfer rates were underwhelming. I also encountered occasional disconnects, which was frustrating during large file transfers. In summary, while the concept of a universally compatible, USB-powered external hard drive is appealing, this product fails to deliver on several fronts. From its build quality to performance, there are significant areas for improvement. I cannot recommend this drive to those seeking a reliable and efficient external storage solution.
