This rod came around 2 weeks late. Arrived in a torn tattered package, it looked opened, used and re-packaged. It came directly from China. That is just the shipping and packaging. My Son really wanted this rod as he saw someone fishing with it on a youtube video. Despite the reviews I purchased it. He couldn't get the line on and after trying for a few minutes the cheep plastic drag button fell off , the spring came out and the rod was broken, unable to be repaired. This rod is plastic, extremely cheaply made, a young child's toy for pretend fishing at best. It was very inexpensive but not at all worth the wait and disappointment on my son's face. Lesson learned, you get what you pay for. I absolutely could not recommend this product, look for a pen rod with better reviews, this rod isn't worthy of the label decoration, let alone fishing rod.

The "drag" adjustment on the reel didn't work. The seller wants photos, etc. so that he can determine the problem. It appears that he wants to stall or complicate the resolution of the problem. I found the problem and fixed it, and photos would not have shown what was wrong with the reel. I am just going to add his name to the list of sellers to avoid.

it is what it is, a novelty item. you could catch little rock bass with it, but i wouldnt pack it into a survival or even camping bag. my main suggestion is to spend a few extra bucks if you HAVE to have it and order from someone in the usa, as shipping from china for mine took 49 days to get here. its a nice convo piece either way
