The best made war movie I have ever watch....(not a fan of war movies either)
I still stick to this review. I have watched it again and again and still feel the same as the first time I watched it and reviewed it. I loved this movie and I hate Army based movies. My Husband LOVES Army Based movies. So we decided to watch this one . I felt this movie would be a good one to watch because Mel Gibson did create Passion of the Christ and I loved that Movie and yes I am a Christian and have no problem telling that. Denying that would make me feel like I don't have faith in my Lord. But my husband just loves war movies. That said to the person that said the thing about this movie.... This movie doesn't have to have perfect reenactments as long as the #1 main part of the movie is about the person and what he was about. Which it showed,a man that believed in his purpose of standing up for his belief and the truth of the Lord. #The main people that was around the main character which was Desmond Doss was correct. It showed how those that should be there to support him weren't but then saw their faults afterwards. Then also it shows his strengths in combat even without a weapon. His weapons were ,The Lord, his own mind, his strength in being able to handle pushing on for a greater purpose than his own. The lives he saved when NO one else stayed to save them and gave up but he didn't. It showed his courage in even giving his own life by putting himself in danger ,over and over and over again. He never gave up and the Lord was there with him through it all.He asked the Lord for only one thing..."Just give me one more" Meaning one more life to save, one more ounce of strength to bring them to safety, One more day for another soldier to live. It showed me that" I can do all things through him who gives me strength"Philippians 4:13 Yes I pulled that card out. The Lord watches over you and me. He doesn't love one person more than another.Even Peter said, "I really am learning that God doesn't show partiality to one group of people over another" This movie portrays how the Lord works through us and also shows how we are to be so loyal to him in return to receive that asst or another word would be Love. Meaning show love and I will show you love. In scripture the Father God shows us by this verse and this one alone is the all meaning of life.... John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. This movie shows the Lord and is what the Lord wants us to see even if through a man like Mel Gibson. The Lord works in mysterious ways. Show passion and courage even under so many trials and he will reward you in heaven and on earth. Trust in him and believe so you can receive and be Blessed with the rewards that pour out for us from heaven. Yes movies are gory and violent. But even in the Bible it shows us life shouldn't be covered up just because you can't handle seeing a little blood. Life isn't easy and can bring the best of men or women to their knees. When Mel makes movies he doesn't hold back. He lets you see how it felt ,how it looked,he gave you a glimpse into that very moment and let you feel even by visual what it was truly like what it truly felt. You know you cringe and almost could feel that very blade moving through the layers of flesh or the bullet ripping the flesh. The hit of a man's pride even with a man being naked before many. It shows all that yes. So if you didn't like it? Then why did you watch it? You knew it would have added things that might not been in the man's real life. The real man was old and gray and now dead. So yes he would have to add something here and there. But honestly... in reality that added effect or moment is usually how it is in real life too. Be honest and think on that next time when deciding to do a review. I am not into gore and hate scary movies and I give this "reality check" movie and true thumbs up. Great movie ,has gore, has a believer of Christ in it,has will to survive ,Has strength,Loyalty, true heroism for his country and his fellow man, action,on the edge of your seat moments, understanding of what war really is without sugar coating it,LOVE. In it also respect of another human being. He even tried to save those that were trying to kill him. How can this movie be less than 5 stars? You couldn't do any better (towards the person that gave 1 star and a bad review). Suck it up buttercup. Even the best knots aren't tied up perfect like they should be to save your life. Sometimes it is the worst made knots. (watch the movie to understand that meaning. If I could give this movie more stars I would have given it 100%+ . That's all.. Now go buy the movie or rent it or whatever. Great movie you are missing out on if you don't.

A Masterpiece in 4K that will leave you Breathless
If you are a fan of war movies, then Hacksaw Ridge is a must-see. This film, directed by Mel Gibson, tells the true story of Desmond Doss, a conscientious objector who served as a medic in World War II. The movie is a powerful and emotional tribute to Doss, and this 4K Ultra HD version takes the experience to a whole new level. The 4K version of Hacksaw Ridge is an absolute masterpiece. The picture quality is breathtaking, with every detail of the cinematography crystal clear and vivid. The contrast and color range are simply amazing, and the HDR technology used in this release brings the battlefield scenes to life in a way that is both stunning and horrifying. In addition to the visual experience, the audio in this release is equally impressive. The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound mix is outstanding, with a dynamic range that captures every explosion and bullet whizzing past your ears. The sound effects are incredibly realistic, and the score by Rupert Gregson-Williams adds an emotional depth that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The special features on this release are also top-notch. The "The Soul of War: Making Hacksaw Ridge" documentary is a fascinating look at the making of the film, and the "Deleted Scenes" and "Veterans Day Greeting with Mel Gibson" extras are a nice bonus. Overall, Hacksaw Ridge in 4K Ultra HD is a stunning achievement. If you are a fan of war movies or just appreciate high-quality cinema, then this release is a must-have for your collection. It is a powerful tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women who served in World War II, and a testament to the power of the human spirit.

A wonderful, TRUE, inspirational story. A must see.
I purchased this 4K Blu Ray with the hopes Hacksaw Ridge was a great war drama...up there with Saving Private Ryan, Platoon and Full Metal Jacket. I was not disappointed. The movie is a true story about Desmond Doss, played by Andrew Garfield. Doss enlisted in the army to be a medic during World War II. But for religious reasons, Doss refused to carry or use a gun. He wasn't an objector to the war, he simply wanted to help his country without killing. It truly is an amazing story that I was totally unaware of until I saw this movie. I won't give away the entire plot, but the story follows him from his youth through basic training to the battlefield. I researched Doss after watching the movie to see if this was another massive Hollywood exaggeration of a "true story." Best I could tell is most of what's depicted, as incredible and impossible as it may seem, IS TRUE. Garfield as Doss is excellent. He comes across as an "aw schucks" humble country boy. But underneath, Doss is an intelligent guy with incredible integrity. I can't say enough about how Garfield gets you to bond to Doss right off the bat...with I believe was his first scene in the church with his mother and her choir. Vince Vaughn is excellent as the drill Sergeant. He delivers a dramatic role with some of his humorous flair. Sam Worthington is another standout as the Captain who has to deal with a soldier who refuses to carry a gun. I generally have found Worthington's acting to be kind of bland in the past (especially in Avatar). But in this moving I thought he was great. Hugo Weaving also does a very nice job as Doss' alcoholic father. He helps deliver a couple of nice emotional scenes in the movie. The movie portrays the war (and war in general) realistically. I don't think director, Mel Gibson, is glorifying the violence or doing it for shock value. I think he expertly shows the randomness and extreme violence that takes place on the battlefield. The utter chaos as hundreds of men try to kill each other. Watching it, I felt saddened that this wasn't just a movie...this really happened. The movie has some choppy points when it tried to delve into exactly what caused Doss to be so adamant in his beliefs. But the overall movie will deliver an emotional viewing experience as you watch the story of this real heroes life.
