Q: Should the bottom of the 'sun' shaft be proud of the brass cylinder? or exactly the same length? orrery only runs intermittantly. ta for advice.

Hi It is difficult to answer without seeing it, but we're pretty sure it should be flush at the bottom. The machined end of the solid rod then fits into the slot in the gearbox. The rod the Sun screws onto also has a brass piece fixed to it (mercury and a gear). If that is fixed too low the rod which drives everything might be higher than it should be and show the same symptom with the intermittency. I hope this helps resolve this. Gemma @ ElectricGemZ

Q: can you get this ready made

No I don't think so. It was a subscription that was original on Eaglrmoss. It was not that hard to build, it come with good instructions in the form of an A4 booklet with both written and picture instructions for your to follow. Worse case buy it and get someone to build it for you, totally worth it.

Q: Where can I buy spare parts? Originally bought as a magazine subscription but one of the editions had the wrong cog.
