Great EDC knife
The spyderco ladybug is a small lockback that's extremely light yet durable. I had one previously on a Keychain and used it daily for about 5 years, the edge was still relatively sharp and the glass filled handle was untouched. Unfortunately I got a magnet quick release attachment (big mistake) and lost it. The ladybug is one of the lightest knives I've ever used because of it's compact size and lightweight handle material. The lock is very sturdy and this knife although small excels at basic cutting needs, such as boxes, rope, plastic wrappers, etc. I have even used mine for camping and fishing and it's sturdy enough to whittle a hot dog stick :). It's not going to replace bigger blade tasks but for most it's surprisingly competent. The scales on the handle are very good and this is some of the best molding you will ever see. The steel is vg10 in the vanilla version and by my use very sturdy and nothing to scoff at. I had great edge retention and no corrosion. I do of course clean my knife and oil it occasionally. If you've got big fingers like I do it's a two handed open or an awkward one handed. Doesn't bother me because this isn't a tactical knife, it's and everyday pocket knife and a damn good one. If you don't lose it 😉 I got the green color and liked it so much I put it in my collection and ordered another black one for my Keychain. I have included some pics with a Civi baby banter and a Mecarmy EK33S for size comparison. You can see the ladybug's blade is not that much smaller than the baby banter, although the blade is thinner. I highly recommend this knife for a edc or 'pocket knife' as us old timers refer to them. It's surprisingly tough and useful for it's scant size and weight. Spyderco quality in a small package. Oh, and I forgot to mention Deadwood knives, very fast shipping!! Scoto

Nice little knife.
Michelle‘s brother Steve Like the little Blade and the lock works well. Very good ergonomics, for such a small knife. Nice steel, plenty sharp, it's tiny, but with practice it can still be opened with one hand. Small but still easy enough to find in your pocket. Typical Spyderco fit and finish. Only downside is price, but worth it, if you can afford it.

Don't laugh, it's a seriously good knife.
Let me start out by saying I'm a knife fiend. I mean, I have a problem. I own and have owned knives all over the price and quality spectrum, but I am a massive stickler for quality and I do not screw around when it comes to potentially life-saving tools (frankly, I don't screw around with quality in tools ever if I can afford not to). This adorable little thing....is excellent. My wife loves her Chris Reeve Sebenza. So much so that she won't ever carry it because she's afraid to lose it. As a result, she tasked me with finding her a knife that would check a series of boxes she required for a daily use knife. She wanted it small enough to be comfortably carried in any situation and in any attire, hollow ground for that unimpeachable edge, made of excellent steel that would hold said edge, made by a company that supports labor rights and ethics, lightweight, lanyard capable, easily spotted if dropped (she lost a Sebenza once...yeah, ouch), extremely corrosion resistant, AND......affordable enough that she won't cry if she loses it (she seriously cried multiple times after losing that one...I mean, I would, too). Read that list again. That's a damn tall order for any knife. I looked at this thing among a sea of others and initially laughed. Though I love Spyderco knives as a good midrange offering (I trust my life deep underwater to the Pacific series), this thing is just...I mean, it's adorable...what else can you say? But she loves ladybugs, so I thought it would be a funny fit. Turns out, as long as you don't need a big blade for a specific task, this is practically the perfect pocket knife. It checks every one of those boxes I've listed with aplomb, it is practically corrosion-proof, not tough to sharpen, holds an edge well for a stainless, is easy enough to sharpen (H1 & H2 steel really are excellent), and you practically can't even notice you have it on you. She's forgotten it going through metal detectors a few times, ha. Daily tasks in the civilized world are almost universally within the scope of this blade size, and the blade is so much better than anything comparable (certainly than anything out of Japan's neighbor to the west) that it would take a really insecure man to laugh this off as a lady's tool. This knife is VASTLY more practical than it looks, and it elicits a chuckle whenever presented, as it's just comical in its proportions. Don't underestimate this little bug, however - it is stoutly constructed (for its size) and can be kept razor sharp. As someone who has put their hands on hundreds of knives, I would not only recommend it, I'd consider it above almost any other option for its purpose. Most importantly, my wife is now obsessed with it. TL;DR - Unless you need a bigger blade, or if you want a small blade in your tool kit, I would put this knife at or near the very top of your list. It's absolutely excellent.

Brilliant little knife
Tiny, very sharp, and one of the lightest knives on the market (17g). Perfect for camping and so light and small it's easy to carry in an accessible pocket. Much easier to open and close than other folding knives I've tried (e.g. Opinel), and thankfully without that perilous "is this blade gonna cut through my fingers like a guillotine" feeling on the close.
