The pieces are great, the size and construction are nice, but even after multiple cleanings and 7 days in direct sunlight, the vinyl smell refused to lessen. For people who aren't super sensitive, it's probably fine, but if offgassing gets to you, I'd avoid this product. I gave it away at chess club to someone else.

This is a nice, portable chess set that travels well. I like to carry it in my daypack or a regular backpack. The pieces are easy to move once you get used to not playing with 3D pieces. I'm sad that the quality of the plastic isn't tougher, but I've already had several hours of fun utilizing this set, so what should I expect. If you're looking for something that travels well and is light, this is a good set. If you expect it to hold up over time, you're probably better off looking for a wood or thicker plastic set.
