These are tiny capsules that you take once a day, providing an 8mg daily dose, which is a good amount. I have used other Pure Encapsulations supplements, and I regard them as a premium manufacturer with a good focus on avoiding adding unnecessary nasties in their products. They are supposed to prevent hair loss and support nail growth, but with these products you can't always be sure if they work for you in the way expected. Note that I've read that it's best to stop taking Biotin a week before a blood test as it can interfere with the blood testing chemicals.

As a former producer of supplements, I have never understood the need-to use such high potencies for Biotin products; as around 100 micrograms should suffice for a regular adult. As you require relatively small amount per-day, and all that will happen with regards-to this particular products' 8000-micrograms, (or 8mg) will be a slight change in the colour of your 'water-waste', as your body works harder to dispose of this excess; due-to Biotin being water-soluble. I.e.; It takes the small amount that it requires, and disposes of the majority of the remainder; which is all wasted. But it is effective, and being a product from Pure Encapsulations, I presume that this is the 'natural' D-Biotin form, as there is a synthetic version; and so, if you ever see any Biotin labelled as "DL-Biotin", you should avoid it. This is a trusted brand, and although it doesn't which form this particular product actually is; you could almost certainly be assured that this is natural variety, which is obviously much better absorbed into the body. (More 'bioavailable'.) If you've never supplemented with Biotin before now, you may notice hair and nails growing faster, or merely just looking more healthy. You may also notice a little more hydration in your skin, too. 500-micrograms or half-a-milligram would be more-than enough to consume on a daily rate, and that would be 'in-addition' to probably the recommended daily rate intake that you are more-than likely already obtaining through your typical daily diet; but 8mg might give-out a false reading on a blood-test, so always speak to your doctor and avoid taking high doses anywhere near any scheduled medical tests. Biotin doesn't give me any issues, and there's nothing other-than plant fibre in here to fill-up the capsule (8mg is a large dose for Biotin, but very small in volume) and consuming with a large glass of water should see you not struggling to swallow this supplement. It's probably too strong for a blue whale; but there's nothing to say that you need-to take Biotin everyday, and then there will be less work for your body to do; getting rid of what it doesn't or cannot possibly use. But what it does use, will be put to good use. This is a good product from one of the most trusted world-leaders in supplementation.

My partner has been using these biotin capsules to help with her alopecia. While we haven't seen any new hair growth yet, she's noticed that her existing hair feels noticeably stronger and healthier. She's pleased with the results so far and plans to continue taking them. The capsules are easy to swallow and she hasn't experienced any side effects aside from darker urine, which may suggest these are stronger than needed.

These *Pure Encapsulations Biotin* are very small tablets taken once a day with a meal. Very easy to take with no aftertaste. Great value, recommended.

Not sure if its my imagination but i think these helped with slowing my hair loss. Baby hairs are growing back on my hair line since taking them. But also found a cheaper alternative with the seven seas vitamin as they have a good percentage of biotin in them too
