I am using it for 3ft * 1ft * 1ft tank and it is doing pretty well.

Its very easy to fix with little trial and error method anyone can fix it. All the attachments will go only in get fixed with the suitable part that comes with. The filter can be fixed on the floor of the Aquarium (it can be placed either vertical or horizontal) make sure that the filter is completely submerged inside the water.
