LavaLock® Self Stick Lid Gasket for Traeger

There’s a lot of reviews on this product that are maybe misleading. This review will try to clear some of this up.1. Adhesion: it sticks fine if the surface is thoroughly degreased. My traeger 34 was only once used and I had to clean it multiple times to get it ready. I used distilled vinegar and dawn soap on a paper towel over and over until a paper tower came back clean. Then I used rubbing alcohol to be certain it was ready.2. Backing not separating from gasket: it just takes patience and maybe some reading glasses. Try bending the corner of the gasket.3. Quantity: There’s much more than enough to do a Traeger 34. At least 4 feet left over.4. Placement: I put mine on the underside of the lid. Had to cut out for the lid guide just a little bit. Makes for a clean install. No leaks around the lid at full smoke.

It was time to take out the old gasket and install the new Traeger Lid Gasket tape. Easy to use. Just measure, cut, peel the backing tape and apply. And, it keeps the pellet smoke inside. Does it keep all the smoke inside? No. However, in my opinion it keeps about 95% more inside the barrel for more smoke flavored meats.Instead of your smoke going out around the opening hatch, use the Traeger Lid Gasket so you're not blowing smoke anymore!

Product worked fine, but white on a dark grey grill stands out like a sore thumb. Black or grey would look much better after installing

Easy to apply works as described and has adhered through several long cooks.

Just follow the instructions and clean the grill real good first. Then stick it along the edges. We ran the grill after and noticed the main spots the Traeger has smoke coming out is in the stack and by the drain. It no longer comes out from beneath the lid.

Only reason two stars is not honest about shipping time. Advertised as Prime and 2 day shipping, did not arrive until 2 days later. The tape itself works as it should.
