244.820.00.1 Flush Valve with Basin Type 212 for Sigma Flush-Mounted Cheese 244820001, Multi-Coloured

Great product. Bought this to replace a 20year old valve that had failed. Different design but compatible with the flush tank and once I’d worked out how to remove the old basket it fitted perfectly.

In 2015, we had a Geberit Omega Duofix system installed with our new bathroom. Aesthetically, it looked superb with a wall hung WC using a cistern that was completely hidden behind tiling but I was concerned about access to the cistern in case of future mechanical failures. All worked perfectly until this month when the smaller button for the 3 L flush stopped working. I looked on Youtube and found a number of videos showing how to remove and replace the broken Geberit Flushing Valve. Whilst it would be easier working on a flushing system if you just took the lid off the cistern, the integrated Geberit system does offer reasonably good access to the key components via its side window. I found advice from the French Plumber was particularly useful in describing how to switch off the water supply, remove the filling valve and then extract the old flushing valve. Unsurprisingly, this was covered in limescale. I tried cleaning it and reinstalling but it was clear that the valve needed to be replaced. I ordered a replacement from Amazon and was very impressed when it arrived first thing the following morning. Geberit have produced the 212 Flushing valve as one Flushing Valve to rule them all, for all of their Omega, Delta and Sigma systems. It now features easy adjustment of both long and short flush. It was easier to fit that the original system as it is slightly smaller. I unclipped the lower basket, which reduced the length of the system so it could fit through the aperture. The lower basket clipped into the back of my cistern. I then installed the flushing valve assembly, clipped it to the basket and reassembled the mechanism and push button fascia. Pleased to say that all worked perfectly first time and that my toilet is flushing like it did when it was first installed 9 years ago. It is very reassuring that I will not need to call out a plumber (and a tiler!) when I need to replace the Geberit systems in my two other toilets!

Right part - quick fix for faulty flush

Despite it being a different design to the one it replaced, it fitted and works perfectly. Fairly easy to fit once you a) get used to operating through the small window of your cancelled cistern, and b) my old flush valve being replaced didn’t have a long neck on the lower basket that needed to be removed before fitting, was a little tricky to remove, but once out fitting the new part was super easy. Tip - use a little smear of silicon grease on the lower seal when fitting the new basket.

Was great, easy to install, I had to replace an old discontinued model with this and was worried it wouldn’t be straight forward but was really easy and simple. Expensive for flush valves, no leaking, and sturdy with the amount of clips

Ich habe das Geberit Spülventil Typ 212 als Ersatz in einem Sigma-Unterputzspülkasten verbaut und bin sehr zufrieden. Der Austausch war überraschend einfach: Wasser abstellen, Betätigungsplatte abnehmen, Rahmen lösen, altes Ventil samt Korb herausziehen, neues einsetzen, einrasten, Wassermenge einstellen, fertig. Nach dem ersten Probelauf war alles dicht, die Spülung läuft sauber an und stoppt zuverlässig – vor allem deutlich leiser als mit dem alten Einsatz. Besonders gut gefällt mir die feinere Abstimmung der Spülmengen für Voll- und Teilspülung: Mit einem kurzen Handgriff lässt sich die Wassermenge so trimmen, dass die Schüssel zuverlässig sauber gespült wird, ohne unnötig viel Wasser zu verbrauchen. Verarbeitungsqualität ist – Geberit-typisch – top: nichts klappert, der Mechanismus läuft spielfrei, die Dichtflächen wirken langlebig und das Ventil schließt prompt. Praktisch ist auch, dass das neue 212er konstruktiv etwas anders aussieht, aber in bestehende Sigma-Kästen nahtlos passt; die Anleitung (inkl. QR-Code) ist klar und wirklich anfängertauglich. Ein Tipp aus der Praxis: Wer einen sehr alten Spülkasten hat, sollte vor der Bestellung kurz den Aufkleber im Kasten checken – bei manchen Altmodellen braucht man das Set „mit Korb“ (244.820.00.1), weil der alte Korb nicht kompatibel ist. Für mich ist das 212er die beste Mischung aus einfacher Montage, zuverlässiger Funktion und sinnvoller Einstellbarkeit; seit dem Tausch ist der Durchlauf endlich Geschichte und die Spülung angenehm leise. Klare Kaufempfehlung.
