I Prefer The 2mg Lozenges On The Punchcard
I dislike the Habitrol 4mg lozenges because they make me sick...They keep me running to the bathroom. They are just like the Kirkland”Quit” lozenges which are the only other 4mg lozenges that do the same thing to me.I recommend Habitrol 2mg original lozenges that come on a punchcard though. They are the best! I don’t notice the decreased amount of nicotine and they have never given me any digestive problems. I also like Equate brand 4mg lozenges, as they have never bothered me either.

Helping my father-in-law quit smoking after 50 years!
I got these for my father-in-law to help him try to quit smoking. He's been a smoker for the last 50 years. He's tried to quit several times but only once was he successful, for about a year, and he used lozenges to quit that time. On a somewhat recent hunting trip, all of his buddies were smoking, and he ended up starting up again, so I thought it would be a good idea to give these a shot to help him kick the habit again! He loves the taste and the fact that they come in bottles he can toss in his pocket. The only 'complaint' isn't really a complaint, but more a mistake on my part. He should probably have had the stronger, 5mg, ones to start because he said he often finds himself having two at a time. That said, he's not had a cigarette since the day these showed up for him, so clearly, they're helping! As noted above, if you're just starting out, maybe start with the higher-dose ones first and then over time, get yourself to drop down to the lower dose. Otherwise, these have been a great buy and are something I will for sure be ordering for him again!

Good nicotine replacement but the texture gets weird fast
Though I no longer smoke, I'm weaning myself off of vaping, and this has been great to eliminate physical withdrawal symptoms. Each lozenge contains 2mg of nicotine, delivered via mucosa. The intent is for the nicotine to absorb through your mouth, not to swallow it. There is a suggestion to use at least 9 lozenges per day as part of a 12 week plan to wean yourself from nicotine. Habitrol suggests the following schedule:Weeks 1 thru 6: One lozenge every 1-2 hoursWeeks 7 thru 9: One lozenge every 2-4 hoursWeeks 10 and 12: One lozenge every 4-8 hours. And then you're done. In theory, it might work to replace the nicotine craving, but that alone will not help you break the habit of inhaling. For that, I suggest getting an aromatherapy inhaler, or just taking a moment to do some deep breathing exercises. It won't replace the feeling of smoke or vapor, but it will oxygenate you and help curb cravings. The original flavor is sweet with a hint of mint. It's not at all unpleasant. The lozenges don't dissolve well. The instructions say that you can expect it to take 20-30 minutes to dissolve, but during that process they turn almost into a chalky gummy mess that you want to chew up - don't do it. Though only 2mg per lozenge, swallowing 2mg of nicotine doesn't feel nice at all. It feels like burning pins and needles in your esophagus if you swallow it. You've been warned. At the recommended dosing schedule (or with using at least 9/day) you'll need at least 378 lozenges to get through the first 6 weeks. You'd need at least 105 for weeks 7, 8 and 9 and then 28 for your final two weeks. For the whole 12 week program you'll need a minimum of 511 lozenges. With 24 in each bottle, you'll need a minimum of 22 bottles. This product, the Original, is currently priced at $45.6/box, or $9.12/bottle. That's $201 minimum to replace your nicotine over three months and allow you to quit smoking or vaping without going through physical withdrawal. To me, that sounds like a bargain... until you realize that the Habitrol blister packs have 216 lozenges for less than $40 with subscribe and save. That's the equivalent of 8 bottles and the equivalent cost of $5/bottle for the same brand and dose, just a different flavor.Compared to the mint and cherry flavors, original is fine - second to mint. I really don't like how the texture gets gummy though. Otherwise, this is a decent quitting aid and nicotine replacement.Best of luck on your journey.

Bits and pieces
These have great flavor (same as Kirkland) but they are so broken up, they are a pain to get out of the container. If you tip the container to get one out, you get a handful of white dust and tiny pieces of the lozenge. It's almost like they get damaged during shipping. I won't buy again.

Good
I've been using the W store generic brand, and have used the name brand Nicorette think it is. I actually prefer the generic version, as far as taste goes (and price). And I usually swap between the cherry and cinnamon flavors, don't care for the mint variety in any of them, and I use the 4 mg version. I don't use these at this time to stop smoking. I use these whenever I'm going to be somewhere I can't smoke(great for flying), but mainly at work to keep me sane till I can go outside and smoke. This brand I tried it says it's original flavor. It's not bad, it's not strong, just a very slight taste, and I think it's a light mint flavor(?). This one I got is also the 2 mg version, and I didn't notice a difference. What I've found with other brands, the 4 mg is a tad stronger, and seems a bit more "peppery". So far no problems with this, I transitioned over to it easily.Just want to add too, I've tried nicotine gum in the past, and I keep forgetting your not supposed to chew it constantly. So I prefer the lozenges. But the first time I ever tried one, it wasn't what I expected. I was expecting it to be like a LifeSaver or something. Nope. Almost kind of slimey. So just keep that in mind, and give it a chance, they're not that bad and do work good and definitely help cut down on cravings. As for using it to quit, it definitely helps, but that's just hard to do anyway. Good luck if that's what you're aiming for!

We shall see
One day I will quit smoking and these will help me do it.The lozenge is a good size so it lasts awhile and the taste isn't bad.The lower dose of nicotine works better for me because although I have been a smoker for 35 years, the higher dose stopping aids seems to make me feel ill.I can't chew gum because of jaw problems and patches haven't worked.I like that I can spit it out at any time if it starts to upset my stomach. The price seems good for what you get.
