I’ve built numerous furniture pieces using this book, and it’s been a fantastic resource. The instructions are easy to follow, even if you're not an expert woodworker. What I really appreciate is how it keeps things simple and affordable—most projects use basic tools and 2x4s, which makes it super accessible. If you're looking to get into woodworking or just want some practical, budget-friendly furniture ideas, this book is a great place to start. Highly recommended!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A great book for people who love woodworking and building furniture. You'll love it!
This is an excellent book for woodworkers and people who love to build furniture out of wood. I recommend it as a great book to someone for their birthday or Christmas if they love woodworking. I also recommend this book as a gift for anyone who dreams of being a carpenter, if they plan to go to school to become a carpenter or work as a carpenter or just for a hobby. I love woodworking. I'm using this book as a reference. I have dreams of building furniture. I love this book. If you love woodworking, You'll love this book. I recommend buying.

Great book for the DIYer
Very informative book that explains basics pertaining to nominal vs. actual wood sizes... It explains parts of a piece of wood (face, edge & end). The book gives a brief overview of tools, screws and nails and other equipment used in woodworking. All of the projects listed in this book have great detail and instructions on how to build them... I will say that the title is a bit misleading as several of the projects in this book are made from other sizes of wood other than 2x4. all in all i am satisfied with my purchase and do not regret it. I think there are 23 projects total.

A new old book
I had this book in the past and either lost it or loaned it out. I was pleased to find it for such a great price! I am glad to have my project book back again. I get good ideas from some of the projects even if I am making something else.

Misleading title
The title and Amazon's description say that this book is about building furniture from one main component: the common and lowly 2x4. However, the book does not focus on the 2x4. The title and description should say that the focus is on using DIMENSIONAL lumber. The designs in this book use plywood and various lumber sizes other than 2x4 and I think some of the designs did not use a single 2x4 piece! I bought this book for ideas and techniques to quickly build simple, cheap, and strong items using 2x4 without expensive metal joints and the like.It includes some nice designs with guides and some beginner carpentry info. This book is good for somebody with a modest tool set. You could probably build most of the furniture with a hand saw, ruler, pencil. and a screwdriver. I would recommend at least a circular saw (if not a miter saw) with a stable work surface or saw horses plus an impact driver. You do not need a table saw, jointer, or a planer. A band saw or jig saw would be useful for cutting out the heart shapes, but unnecessary (as are the decorative holes). This book is about making furniture with a minimal tool set NOT about utilizing the 2x4 primarily. This book is missing some steps. I noticed that in at least one case, whilst merely paging through, the instructions for how to join one piece were missing. From the similarity to another of the book's projects, I surmised that it should have toenail joints. Which leads me to another shortcoming: the use of toenails for structure. Although toenails can hold for a while, I have never seen them hold up well to time and real use. Toenails are good for when you can't do anything else or just to hold something in place (either temporarily or for a non load bearing joint). I recommend using an alternative when the book calls for toenails like drilling the outer piece and using extra long screws.I will not be keeping this book as I already know enough to design this stuff myself or find something on the internet.

You can't judge a book by it's cover
The above statement was obviously written by someone who had purchased this book. There are some good plans, but less than half of them involve any 2x4s at all and several of the others its a small portion of the lumber for the project. Of the 12 projects in the indoor section only 2 contain a 2x4. Not exactly what I was looking for in a book entitled "2x4 Furniture".
