Pistons are super strong. Instructions on placing the brackets could be better. We chose to make the platform door with 5 - 1 x 4’s the 80” way and 11 - 1 x 4’s across the 60” way. For both weight and aesthetics reasons we spaced the 60” slats at 5-5/8” apart rather than splicing plywood together. The instructions showed to prop up the platform door 39” and see if that gave you the desired access. With the pistons fully extended we guessed at 45 degrees and centered the top bracket on one of the slats. By placing an additional 2 - 1 x 4 x 20”, one on each side, parallel to the 80” rails and across 3 slats, we were able to spread the load. Since our design allowed the bottom bracket infinite placement options.we raised our door to 42”. Highly recommend the through bolt option which there is not enough of included in the hardware pack. These pistons are super strong and actually ripped the 1 x 4 off the base unit we had the piano hinge attached too.

The media could not be loaded. I had this kit to modify an existing high end bed-frame we own. My wife likes this brand of furniture, but they don’t offer any under bed storage so medication was required. It was very simple and only took a couple hours to complete.I simply modified the existing frame using a few pieces of lumber (2x4) and the original slats of the bed.Works perfectly, with an almost effortless lift of the Super-King sized mattress. Huge amount of additional storage now available.Sturdy hinges are required and not included in the kit.

They weren’t completely easy to install, but that’s only cuz I don’t do math well 🤣. Other than that my bed lift so much easier. I didn’t put them in the right position, like further away from the head of the bed so they don’t stay up when the mattress is lifted lol in my tiny home. I also didn’t build the box bed from scratch. So I’m sure if I did it would definitely work as advertised. However, I still love it because I know they would work great if I had done the install process differently. In the meantime till I get around to fixing my mistake the weight of my mattress is so much easier to lift and get things inside my bed box.

We finished this project in one day. We took instructions to home Depot and had them cut the plywood. Cost for lumber, screws, hinges etc. was 149$ for queen size bed. Instead of painting or staining base I purchased a 16 inch bed skirt. Looks great and gave us the storage we needed.

I would return it if I could. I got all of the materials to build this. I had to buy plywood, piano hinges, and screws. I couldn't get it to work properly. I even got a person who builds all kinds of things to check my bed to see if I had done something wrong. He said that it looked like the springs didn't seem to work right. One even broke. It was a total waste of money. I don't recommend this product. I wish I could get my money back for it.

Received kit to make getting under the bed easier. Finally opened the kit and there is no piano hinge. If this was a part that was needed then why is it shown in the pictures and why is it not listed AS A NEEDED item!?!?
