I noticed latest tablets don't dissolve much; no discernible change over two months. Any ideas?** A: I can only tell you my experience with the product. I live alone so the tablets last a few months for me. It depends on the amount of water being transferred from the aeration tank to the pump tank. I hope this helps you. I would not worry about how long they last unless you get a negative reading when you check the chlorine residual. **Q: How big are the tablets?** A: Slightly smaller than a hockey puck. Approximately 2-1/4" diameter X 1" tall. **Q: Can these be used in a pool?** A: Im thinking they have COPPER in them. If so, will turn the water green due to copper oxidation. Otherwise, they may be good. But i think the reason they are saying NOT FOR POOLS is because of the copper. As far as the dosage, dont worry about it, throw it in the pool, it WILL work, but you may need to test the copper. If someone can do that, maybe we can use these as an altgernative to pool chlorine tabs. The reason why these are good, is beacuse most tabs are Trichloro, which arent unstable chlorine like this, but stable chlorine bound to the Cyanuric Acid(CA). What the industry DOES NOT tell you, is TOO much Cyaniric acid, and you will get algae too, because the Chlorine stops working, not the correct amount of HOCI/OCI to be effective, through the PH of the water. So, if theres no copper in this, what is in this? maybe some other heavy metal? If not, then if you add the correct amount of Cyaniric acid once, and just add Straight unstable chlorine like this, or sodium hypochlorite (house bleach) to keep the free chlorine levels correct, then 3ppm will kill your algae. However if you use those trichlor all season, there will be a time when your Cyanuric acid gets over like 60=-100ppm, and that will start to degrade the water conditions! So we need a cheap source of sodium hypochlorite, or calcium hypochlorite, or other non stable chlorine source, so we DONT OVERDOSE the CA(with trichlor or pool stabllizer). The liquid bleach works fine, use that if your not sure, after you have the CA in your water. However, i dont want to pour ounces of bleach in my pool every day, it is non sustainable, i need a floating tablet for the slow release, so i can reduce maintenance to once / week atleast. Would somebody be so kind to order this and test for heavy metals if you have test to see if this maybe a cheap source of unstablilized chlorine which most pool people need? **Q: Can these be used in well water that is used for drinking/bathing/cooking?** A: I wouldn't think so. This has a high level of chlorine, and the instructions state not to touch skin.
