These were bought to replace unwieldy metal ground anchors that were next to impossible to get into the ground if it was not soft dirt. I use the ground anchors to hold down an RV awning when it gets a bit windy. These anchors worked very well. They have gone into all types of ground and as can be seen in the picture they worked great even in rocky ground. They insert easily with use of the plastic covers that come with the anchors and hold very well.

Worked great for our umbrella/tent at the beach. The ones the tent came with did not feel secure. Bought a set of these and they held the tent down great on a very windy beach day.

Works as advertised and the case serves as leverage to screw into the soil. Logic says in sun baked soil it will be much harder to get into the soil - Maybe impossible so don’t expect a miracle 😊.

Stake held up to abuse from use as a dog tie anchor. Lost the tube, so had to remove from yard with a 3’ piece of pvc. Have not tried in sand.

I got this to anchor our portable satallite antenna, as the screw anchor that came with the stand won't drive into anything but sand... Haven't used it for that intended purpose yet, but we have as a dog rope tie-down when camping. It easily eats down into hard packed earth and gravel! So I have ordered another one. Also appreciate that it comes with a sturdy sleeve that can be inserted as a leverage handle. I don't know how long that will last if it is really torqued on, so we will add in a sturdy dowel segment at some point.

I found they weren't suitable for tethering down an Easy-up style shade in the wind if you are at the beach. The spikes are not wide enough to withstand the pull and they come right out toppling the shade. Otherwise I think they would be fine in dirt. Not sand.

works great... we use this at the camp ground to tie both dogs (under 20 lbs. each dog).
