Used this to pass the Virginia Class A Residential Building Exam and Home Improvement Contractors Exam. Read the entire book front to back, it was excellent and learned so much.

School style textbook. Nice book for teaching or learning basic terms and concepts in construction industry.

Wealth of information, but this book is tailored for students, something a high school teacher would have students do homework assignments out of, it has test and reviews and such things in this book. When I opened the book for the first time, my mind immediately remembered high school. It is formatted and organized for teacher/student use, but if your an established wood man looking to learn about residential construction, it’s not that bad if you can learn to ignore this “ text book” style of book and focus on the subject areas at hand, because a lot of it is elementary stuff to an experienced wood man/woman. If your new to the trade, this book may be something good. Book itself is quality made, hardcover, glossy pages, will last.

This book is very informative with different construction techniques for different stages of building. Great DIY book!!!
