I try to get them on sale. Good quality and selection. **Q: what is the size of the bottom opening?** A: They are sixteen inches. They can be pulled over cowboy or engineer boots. As a comparison, boot cut are eighteen inches. **Q: Are these jeans pre shrunk ?** A: NO my shrunk more then expected, I bought two sizes 40 & 42 didn't know which would fit better. Kept the 42's fit good before being washed after a little tight. Be advised. **Q: my husband has them but on back pockets some are higher up than others what do i do to pick to know the difference** A: Check the style #. The last jeans I purchased on Amazon are the European cut (2008916 ) not the American cut (2008964). I called lee and they explained the different cut.
