Can be used in So Many Ways!!!!
Absolutely loved it! Originally purchased to assist in litter box training our new ShihTzu and it worked wonders allowing me to view her progress and provide feedback when good or bad. The ability to provide treats when she did good was a huge benefit and, I'm convinced, allowed her to complete her training early! After her training, I have used it to bring with her to a pet resort and place in her suite to allow me to view her while on vacation. It's extremely easy to setup and connect with the Pawbo App! And, I love the simple QRCode feature allowing you to easily create a QRCode and send to whomever you wish and allow them access to view your pet (or whatever you have the camera pointed at). But it's also secure allowing you to know how many are connected at any given time (if I remember, it can be up to 10) and you can set the Pawbo to chime/ring whenever someone connects and views the camera feed! This feature alone would make it an awesome addition to breeders who wish to easily allow new pet owners to view their new pets in progress before being able to pick them up!The laser is great as it can be controlled by you to interactively play with your pet, or you can set it on auto where it will do it itself. However, the ONLY drawback I have for the device is that a very simple fall (which can be easy given it's shape, size and smoothness in your hands) of about 1 to 2 feet caused some controllers to get knocked out of place and thus made the laser shoot in one spot and could not be controlled manually or automatically for play. Luckily, my husband is amazing at fixing things and was able to open the device and repair the problem - so all good! 🤗The ability to select various sounds (cats purring, birds chirping, etc) that catches the pets attention is nice; although I wish they would add the ability to play pre-recorded messages that the owner can record in future versions/updates to the app! Finally the two-way audio is great to talk with your pet and get feedback. And the ability to capture video and still is a great plus, especially when they like to do funny things when nobody is looking! Although I would prefer 1080p or anything better than the 720p that it is.Otherwise I now use it to watch her while away from the house for a short time (which is not often being retired early) or as a simple "extra" security camera. It easily hides in various places and can become a great extra security camera, especially with two-way audio completely freaking out any uninvited guests into your home while away! Lastly it has worked nicely as well for my husband, who often does the shopping, to talk with me at home while allowing me to be free to roam around the room completely disconnected from any device or phone, allowing him to verify he is getting the right brand, size, etc.Simply put - it's a Completely Awesome Device that can still be used in a multitude of ways after not needing it for your pet!

Don't expect support...
Excellent product, does everything it says it does, but their support is TERRIBLE. I have reached out to them 3 times in the last 2 weeks (twice by email, once by phone) and heard nothing back. There is no API I can find to connect and use this product, so its "as is" as far as functionality. The treat tray only holds 8-9 treats, so it runs out constantly and has to be refilled daily at the minimum. The sound effects available are kind of terrible...rat squeaking, cat meowing etc, but there is no simple ding sound effect (that plays when you open the app) available on the sound effect commands, and the audio quality is poor to medium at best. The camera lags if its far away from the router, significantly so, but does send live footage -- it just comes through as still images most of the time. The app itself takes about 1m to load every time its opened, which sucks when you're trying to dispense a treat immediately.

Some pointers for use
I purchased this camera initially for christmas, and when the product works, it works great. I had to use an alternative method to set it up, by syncing my phone to the camera's internal wifi, but once I did that set up was simple, and seems to be easier than other similar products on the market. Also unlike other similar products the camera does not constantly record when you are not using it or send motion sensor notifications to your phone, which for me is actually a positive point. It also makes a clear noise when it activates and also dispenses treats, which animals can be trained to respond to. I think this is actually a better option if your goal is simply interacting with your animals, as opposed to storing hours of video and paying a subscription on a cloud storage service. If you want to monitor your pets for long periods of time rather than just check in now and then, this product is not intended for that.My cats like this product a lot, and I enjoy them liking it and being able to interact with them when I'm away. This is why when I started encountering hardware problems with some of the features shortly after activation I tried out several replacement cameras to test the product and identify the cause of the problems. I then waited a month to post this review to be sure that the functionality of the product did not deteriorate over time as I use it (as other reviews have noted). You might notice some of the more negative reviews complaining about the motor on some of the features. I agree that the motors are very touchy. My problem in particular was with the laser pointer, and in this case I think I've determined that the laser pointer motor doesn't do well with large jerking movements. Either the motor becomes damaged if there is a period of continued use under these conditions, or the motor doesn't necessarily reset to center automatically if you exit out of the program while using the laser, which if the pointer is too far off center this seems to then break either the motor or the motor's programming. This has resulted in the laser pointers on three of the cameras I've tried getting stuck uselessly pointed off into the plastic of the lower corner of the device. However it appears this problem can be avoided, I'm one month in and my current laser pointer still works. To get the most lifetime out of the laser pointer, I recommend:1) Avoid using the laser pointer auto mode. The auto mode is particularly jerky with its motions and may contribute to the motor wearing out quickly. I used auto mode on all of my previous cameras (which malfunctioned within a day or two) and I have not used auto mode on my current camera (which is still going a month later).2) Before you close the app, use the manual mode to recenter the laser pointer in the field of view.Similarly you probably want to baby the motor in the treat dispenser. My understanding after reading the manufacturer's FAQ on the product is that there's an intentional delay in the treat dispenser motor response after the treat function has been selected once. I have not tested this as much as the pointer, but it's possible that hitting the treat option too many times during that programmed delay may overwhelm the motor.Amazon's customer return service is excellent, and I was also able to speak with technical support from pawbo itself by going to their webpage. I have no complaints about either the shipping or the customer support. The product is light and small, and so it can potentially be knocked over or damaged. I would recommend either mounting it somewhere or putting it on a shelf, or if it's going to be in a location that the animals can reach, to get some sort of cage to put around it.I've included pictures of how I've currently arranged the camera, as well as one of my cats regularly playing with the laser pointer. I'm getting the teaser toy add on next.
