Very hard to lock and unlock. Everytime I get my oil changed at the local shop I have to lock and unlock for the service tech.

Only time will tell if the hardware is sturdy. However, so far it is performing perfectly in keeping the hood of my Jeep secure -- no more hood bounce at highway speeds. Once I found the perfect setup, I added green Loctite to the jam nut to lock it in place, and I also made sure to add some machine oil to the pins so that it should stay protected from moisture for a while, I will just re-oil it a couple times per year.
