I'm not an expert, so I can't tell you if this is real leather or not. What I can say though is that it certainly smells like real leather. The journal is true to size, and looks accurate to the pictures. The paper is as described, slightly course and on the thicker side. This would make a nice luxury journal or doodle book, or perhaps just a fun decoration. I cannot comment on longevity as I have only recently purchased it, however, my biggest fear is the leather flaking at some point, which is what happens with fake leather, though per the listing this is authentic leather and that SHOULD NOT happen. I guess we will see!

6 Star journal
Got this journal in October of 2023. I am not into journaling or diaries or sketching. Just wanted something an inch and half high to put under a candle lamp in the fireplace niche. This journal did the trick. Blends in with the stone and just looks nice in general. Looks like leather, feels like leather, the pages don't show at all so nothing to say about that. Really glad I found it.

Better as a prop
This is better as a prop for like comic con or mega con. It's in my opinion well made, but too small to use as real journal. The leather smells like leather but is a bit thin and the paper is what makes the book feel solid. I personally wanted a journal, so I returned mine. Also gel pens do not work on this paper. I don't have ink for quill pens but I knownthey work really well

This is a beautiful journal. The leather cover is so soft and the vintage look of the paper is gorgeous. The paper is thick, looks handmade. Had a wonderful feel in your hands. Almost too pretty to write in!
