Took a gamble on this skirt as even 4 star reviews mentioned pretty significant issues. I thoroughly inspected the skirt after opening and found no real issues.Seams were surged and sturdy. Ends were finished. Fabric feels pretty strong and even survived being walked on up a flight of 32 stairs.The white is super crisp, but yes it is see through even with the slip underneath. But, what white clothing isn't?? Was very crinkled out of the package, but considering they had to ball it up to ensure the lowest possible shipping cost to you, its to be expected. Nothing a little ironing or hang in a steamy shower wouldn't fix.Had some stray strings sticking out of the bottom hem, just clippings that hitched a ride through the machine. I pulled them out and my skirt is still intact.There are a couple of spots where the gathering or pleating at the top edge of a tier had gotten taken a little goofy by the machine. but unless you are studying every inch of every seam, it is not noticable.Waistband is nice and thick. Has a string to tighten. My string was one piece all the way around with lots of extra slack. I am a 26 waist at 5'4 and it fits beautifully. The length when worn at my hips is a little long and drags a little bit, which is perfect. The skirt is super full and catches the air nicely. I am able to tuck sections and still have quite a bit for twirling.Skirt says it is dry clean only. In all reality, no one is going to do that. Im not. I would recommend not letting it float free in your wash unless yours doesn't have an agitator, or if yours is a dyed color.I specifically bought mine white to avoid the dye bleed. I've had a dress like that and trying to get the color sealed without knowing how it was originally dyed is a nightmare. However, this was the perfect price for me to take a gamble so I can learn to tie dye my own skirt.If it's a success I will definitely be returning for more white skirts.

I purchased this skirt for a theatre production and was not disappointed. It's very full, with a great silhouette and terrific movement. The fabric hangs beautifully and there is a LOT of it - multiple layers of gauze, which makes it heavy enough to fall correctly when moving or dancing. If you're looking at this for an active event, like a theatre production or a renaissance faire, you should probably be aware that the fabric as a whole is fairly delicate so if it snags on something it would be easy to tear. The sizing on this is very generous, the waistband is elastic and there is a drawstring as well which helps but if you're smaller than a US8 or have a very straight figure the weight of the skirt might make it difficult for it to stay up unless you have it tucked into a bodice or belt. I will be buying several more, overall it's a good piece for the price.

Ladies, if you’re looking for a true bohemian, country, Gypsy skirt, look no further!! The fit is perfect, the colors are perfect. I highly recommend, buy it!! I bought 2 and I will be buying more! Love that this is cotton, made it easy to wash when I got it out of the package pretty wrinkly. Also made sure there wasn't going to be a smell (I can't remember if there was one or not) It is a tiny bit sheer because it is a light color, but the underskirt part helps that. It just means I have to keep the underskirt in.It is very full! Spinning in it is fun, when I wore it on very hot days, tucking parts of the skirt into the bottom of my corset was very cute because it would bunch and lay in cute ways that also let me have a breeze. The waistband is one size, stretches a lot. A little hard to figure out a great way to tie it to your size. If you are an XS, you will probably have a lot of waistband gathered so it will be kinda thick. I am a S/M and it was pretty gathered on me. Length was fun, I am 5'6" and in flat shoes and wearing it above my hips it was not dragging on the ground, but near it.

This is a lot of fabric and easily fits my 18/20 body (no tightness around my apron belly which is a common problem with skirts for me). It was packaged very tightly so of course lots of wrinkles but they seem to fall out easily and should be gone after a gentle wash. It did have a distinct chemical smell right out of the package and seems to have been dyed with the drawstring tied as some spots are still white. It is a long drawstring so I will simply trim and add beads. This should be a decent costume piece, maybe not suited for everyday wear as it is delicate and stitching isn't as tough as it could be.
