I've never seen it marketed as waterproof instead of weatherproof** A: This is Online Labels' product code OL177WJ. It is the same product that is marketed as weatherproof for inkjet printing on the Online Labels' website. **Q: will this paper work for water sport purposes.. ie: to make stickers that will be applied to surfboards, jets skies, etc.** A: This item (Online Labels' product code OL177WJ) is made from a very durable material. The label material has a water-fast inkjet coating that is designed to repel water and it has a strong, permanent adhesive. That being said, I am not sure that I would recommend it for the uses you have mentioned. The label material itself will likely hold up to the conditions, but I am not sure how the ink from your inkjet printer will hold up when exposed to sunlight & salt water. You may see the colors fade quickly when exposed to UV light & salt water. The results will vary depending on your inkjet printer and the colors used so I would highly recommend testing the product to see if you are happy with the results. One drop of water smudged all of my ink and ruined the sticker.
