This nose stud did not disappoint—it’s definitely high quality and looks great. The only downside (which isn’t the product’s fault) is how difficult it is to get the backing on. The area is so small that it’s hard to reach and hold everything in place. Like another reviewer said, it’s really a two-person job. My husband had to screw the backing in while I held the stud. If anyone has a trick for doing this solo, I’d love to know! Honestly, I think there’s a real opportunity for an entrepreneur to design a high-quality stud with a more user-friendly insertion and securing method.

I got the 4 prong 2.3 mm diamond nose ring in 19.5 gauge. It’s an excellent size. It’s not too big or too small. The post is about 7mm long so it’s short enough that it doesn’t show at the bottom of your nose. The 6 prong diamond nose ring is a little over 9mm long so it would show at the open nostril. So if you are wanting a nose ring go with the 4 prong as its stem is shorter. Now for the gauge size. My nose piercing hole is around an 18 guage, so I had no problem putting this in. If your nose ring hole is the size of a 22 gauge, then you will have to stretch out your hole in order to get it in. It is a rather uncomfortable experience but it can be done. What I did was I got a size bigger and worked my way up on the gauge scale slowly. 22g, 20g for a couple of weeks , 18g for about 3-4 weeks. When you put this nose ring in it is easier to put the diamond thread in your nose ring hole and then attach the backing and screw it in a bit and then use it to guide the backing into your nose ring hole and then screw the diamond thread the rest of the way in. Diamond tested positive for diamond on my diamond tester. It is hallmarked 14k. I have severe metal allergies and so far this I can say is solid gold not plated. I am pleased with my purchase for sure.

I bought them for a nose ring, and they are not good for wearing in your nose because the flat back jabs into the other side of your nose on the inside and it hurts
