Petzl Sm'D Carabiner - Versatile, Lightweight, Compact, D-Shaped Locking Carabiner for Rock and Ice Climbing

Nicely made and it locks. I haven't tested it to failure. Good way to secure objects to a backpack.

Solid carabiner, thicker than I thought, good spring and always closes completely. Only using it for keys to a belt loop but definitely heavy enough for heavier work. Not the junk cheap ones.

Bought one a few years ago to be an EDC bug out item that holds my keys. Solid unit. It’s slightly larger than the cheapo carabiners you buy in the box stores. That being said, having used it for awhile, the other ones feel too small now. Feels like the perfect middle ground between small and large. The locking mechanism also doubles as an excellent fidget spinner and the spring latch feels solid every time you snap it open/closed. Finish is sort of a satin black, feels very well made and like it would last a lifetime. This is my second unit, the first one bailed me out of an emergency scenario. I was attempting (unassisted) to hang a full size truck hood off the 12’ walls in my shop. After precariously ascending the ladder while holding the hood, I discovered the hardware I purchased at the local box store was not long enough to hook onto the hood latch and into the hanging hardware on the wall. There was no way for me to descend the ladder without falling or dropping the hood. My keys were on this carabiner and it was the perfect size to hold the hood. Still on the wall. 10/10 would buy a third time

Performs more than admirably as my go-to carabiner at the climbing gym. Strong, vanishingly light, it has served very well as the 'brake' on my ABD for a large number of partner-falls, and lives unmarked to tell the tale of safety! The Tri-act lock gives me confidence that everything is secure, and cannot be unlocked without true effort. I will not detract a star because it takes a bit of effort to unlock this device... Instead, I view it as a welcome feature for a guy who came late to climbing and needs all the help he can get.

Its worked flawlessly and I havent died or killed anyone yet. So I count that as a win for this product

Works as intended, very durable, looks more gold then pictured, overkill for my keys.

Gotta be honest I brought this to put all of my keys on and will always have it on me If I need to spur a tree lmao but I can't really give to in depth of a review. Certainly is the nicest carabiner I've ever seen aside from my petzl ok sl.

Petzl Erwachsene SMD Rl Verticality, M39A RL 19.04.2024 (Bearbeitet: 29.10.2024) Der Karabiner ist relativ klein und hat besagterweise "nur" eine Drehverschluss-Sicherung am Schnapper. Der Karbabiner funktioniert soweit völlig bedenkenlos und zuverlässig. Das ich kein Problem. Bisherige Bedenken, ihn mit einem GriGri+ zu verwenden, scheinen von mir unvollständig gewesen zu sein. Ich habe zwar dafür einen anderen (Simond), aber der kleine hier scheint auch gut zu passen. Sonst ist der Karbiner hier auch ziemlich leicht, was gibt es sonst noch zu sagen? Bruchlast ist mit 23 KN angegeben, trotz der relativ keinen Größe. Ich denke, ich werde ihn mit einer Steigklemme und kleiner Seilrolle benutzen. Ich probiere es einfach mal aus. Bisherige Verwendung mit einer dynamischen Sicherungsschlinge. Mit diesem schmalen und sehr leichten Karabiner ist die Anwendung auch über Kopf sehr einfach und unkompliziert. Kaufempfehlung? Nach vorheriger Bedenken, da es sich um einen Twist-Lock-Karabiner handelt, denke ich, dass dies ein sehr guter, kleiner Karabiner ist, den ich vielleicht sogar noch ein zweites Mal holen könnte. Ich gucke mal, wie es später aussieht. Ja, eine Kaufempfehlung kann ich für diesen Karbiner mit meiner Überzeugung geben. Wer einen kleinen D-Form-Karabiner mit "nur" Drehverschluss ("Twist-Lock") brauchen kann und sucht, ist mit dem Karabiner von Petzel bestimmt gut aufgehoben. Guter, keiner Karabinder, aber eigentlich nicht das, was ich anfangs gewollt hatte. Dennoch bin ich zuversichtlich, auch für das kleine "Ding" eine sinnvolle Nutzung zu finden und dann soll es auch gut sein ;-) . Und genau das hat der Karabinder mittlerweise geschafft. Ich benutze ihn mit einer Sicherungsschlinge sehr gerne, da er sehr leicht ist und unkompliziert zu bedienen ist. Die Schnapper-Feder ist ansprechend straff genug und gibt einem ein sicheres Gefühl dabei. Viel Spaß
