Gave this as a gift to my son with many children who never has time to sleep. He absolutely loves it and though it may look ridiculous, it is a fantastic aid in napping when he can grab the chance. Well made, soft and comfortable. One can sleep just about anywhere!

My wife hates being around me when I wear this while we travel because it looks rediculous. But man does this work well. I never sleep on planes and knocked right out with this on.

I wasn't sure if I would like this "pillow", but I do. It looks really strange (I fully understand the humor in many of the reviews). I also don't care how strange it looks. I have what some would call a mild (others would say "mild" is an understatement) obsession with pillows. Although my obsession is mostly with down pillows, the material of the Ostrich Pillow is soft and comfy. I'm someone who likes to sleep on my side with a pillow over my head. This stems from years of sleeping with a snoring husband, but now its become just a habit. This weirdly shaped pillow makes that super easy without constantly waking up to look for my "ear pillow". So far I'm very pleased.

This product is advertised on Amazon as "easy to clean" and "washable", but that is not true; it cannot be washed. The cleaning instructions from the manufacturer (only available after purchase and receipt) specifically state it CANNOT be washed, but only "spot cleaned" (whatever that means) on a limited basis. Further, there is no way to actually turn this pillow inside out to clean the interior (e.g., the part that rubs against your face and eyes); there appear to be hard plastic "ribs" inside the pillow that maintain it's structure and prevent it being turned inside out. This is a completely unusable product. First, anything I'm going to be pressing against my face, such as a pillow, needs to be washed upon receipt - this comes direct from a manufacturing facility in China, and any similar item of clothing, linens, etc. needs to be washed before first use. Second, and possibly more important, this is a pillow - it literally is in constant contact with your head and face when it is being used. It will quickly get dirty and must be washed just as a result of regular use - this is such a basic requirement for this type of item that I am literally shocked this is still offered for sale. In sum: this is an unsanitary and poorly designed gimmick. Grossly overpriced and unusable.

This is only comfortable if you are sitting in a recliner or laying on your back.

The product pretty much is the same as the description. It's comfy, cozy, and shuts out light so it's perfect for power napping. The downside is when I put my head down with the pillow on, it seems to put a lot of pressure on my eyes. I have high eye pressure and have to be screened for glaucoma every year. I noticed the first time I used the pillow that upon waking up from a wonderful power nap, I could not see anything for 30 minutes. Everything was extremely blurry, and the blurriness would not go away no matter what I did for those 30 minutes (so you can imagine how frustrating it was to not be able to get back to work/studying). This happened again the next two times I used the pillow, and that was when I connected the possibility that the pillow and the posture that you're supposed to use it it was putting extra pressure on my eyes. The third time I used it, the blurriness would not go away for an hour and I could not focus my eyes or see/read anything. I finally ended up finding a way to use it without causing this issue. While I still put my head down, I put my arms down in front of where my face (with the pillow on of course) will be resting. The pillow resting on my arms (possibly b/c it's not a flat surface) relieves a lot of the pressure and I no longer wake up with the bluriness. Just wanted to give a heads-up for other people who know they have high intraocular pressure.

Before you go to far, yes you do look stupid wearing this. If that’s the only they you care about then don’t get it. Now if you are like myself and don’t care what all the strangers you’ll never meet again think about while you sleep then this thing is great. They show people putting their hands in the holes on the head… nahh those are vents so your head doesn’t get to hot. It’s big enough to make it so your head doesn’t roll over while falling asleep, thin enough that you don’t get too hot wearing it. Perfect window seat pillow. Bonus points when I ordered it and got 2.

The product had a strong chemical odor from the moment I removed it from the box. For something you put on your head, this could lead to a headache for someone who is sensitive to such things. Maybe I just have a big head but the pillow is not as big as it looks in the pictures. When using it as it was designed, the hole for breathing also came up to my eyes making it nearly impossible to block out the light. When you stick your arms in the top, it pulls the pillow up and uncovers your eyes. This is due to the size of the pillow. The inside lacks a lot of filling making the support of the pillow sub-par at most. When you put it on your head, gravity takes over and all the filling groups up at the bottom leaving poor support for the rest of your head. The stitching on the pillow does not appear to be very sturdy either and I fear it could easily get snagged and all the filling would come out. The fabric used on the pillow is good, and soft to the touch so getting your head in an out is easy. Overall, I would say it would make for an excellent gag gift, but for the price, the functionality of the pillow could really use some work.

It works for what it is, really blocks out the lights and noise when you're on the plane or at an busy airport.

Fantastic as a normal night time pillow if you toss and turn! I just wish there was an option to close the arm holes for warmth and more consistent cushioning. They're held open with a flexible plastic hoop that is sewn in.
