Cable is cheap
This is an entry level plastic non indexed shifter. I bought it because it was inexpensive and came with a cable. Unfortunately the cable that came with the unit was flimsy and came unraveled as it passed thru the cable housing. I replaced the cable with a better one. Now the unit shifts fine and functions as a decent friction shifter as a replacement for a vintage Sun tour unit. In hindsight I would order a better quality shifter without the cable since I had to replace this one anyway.

Easy to install and adjust.
Installed on a Specialized (Works) 14 speed road bicycle front derailleur (2 chainrings). Simple installation and shifts smooth and accurate. Great performance for the money.

Huge improvement over original twist shift.
I used this to replace a really stiff twist shift. Easy replacement and works great.If replacing a twist shift with lever, you may also want to get a longer hand grip. The twist shift acted as part of the grip, so it left a gap with the original grips.
