Ugly Stik GX2 Spinning Reel and Fishing Rod Combo

I love it. Ugly Stick is always a great value and the GX2 it nice. I get a lot of feel from the tip and a strong backbone. This rod also looks great paired with my KastKing Speed Demon Elite 3000.

The reel and rod are great! The reel was missing a pin though. I checked inside the box everywhere for the pin that held the handle to the rod though could not find it. Thank you Amazon!

No problem with this rod and reel. I use it daily and like it.

Pick up fishing or picked up where I left off after 30+ years :-) but fishing in lakes and the ocean with this one and perfect! Taught my 2 littles (8 & 14, I say littles because I have much older too) on this one instantly.

Well I have bought (Ugly Stick GX2 Combo) from your store in amazon at 28/june, according to the written description which’s say’s (2 peace Rod) then I received 1 peace Rod with Broken Reel, I bought the Combo 54$ and paid 150$ shipping to Aqaba,Jordan by (Myus) and also 100$ customs fees in Jordan, so I spend already a lot of money, and I didn’t got what I except by (product Written description) and now I could pay Extra money To return the Item, so what I suppose to do now ?? I Had really Bad Experience with amazon Prime products I bought 5 Items those last few days none of the has the write weight on it they send it the myus address with wrong weight label on the package they write on this products the weight is 5.0 lbs and the right weight is 1.6 lbs which's cost my a lot of money to ship them to my onw country I tried to contact amazon team and I spend 2.5 chat with them for nothing they promise me to call me and solve this issue and they didn't was really bad experience ever, The rod does provide pretty good sensitivity, Worked great. Very smooth casts, and nice reeling, Felt like a one-piece, no problems at all. The handle is comfortable, and the whole thing is very nice, The rod comes with a 7 year warranty, I stronger recommend getting this setup as an entry level do-it-all.

Super good rod for price. One star off for the reel I replaced it with a Shimano sienna 4000

I was looking for a one piece rod with good action! The seven foot one piece did not disappoint . The reel was decent as well, I outfitted my setup with 30 lbs. braid (Spider Wire) brand. I haven't lost any fish after hooking on this pole, perhaps my confidence comes from using braided line & my ability to tie knots. The rod is medium action, perfect for strippers. it has a seven year warranty, so i'm trying my best to break it. Kidding, I do tend to be a little more aggressive with this setup mainly because of it being a one piece rod. I got the combo & i plan to swap out the reel this summer and upgrade to a smoother reel, ill check the eyes on the pole then and give an update on their condition.

I've been fishing Shakespeare ugly stick my entire life. The quality and durability is simply unmatched for the price . I bought the gx2 6'6 with the size 40 reel about a year ago and have been fishing it hard ever since. I just received mine and my dad's matching 1-piece 7 ft gx2s with the size 50 reel today and absolutely cannot wait to to get 'em slimy. If you are at all considering purchasing these rod and reel combos I absolutely encourage you to pull the trigger. Tight lines and bent rods to all.

Great feeling rod but what weight range of lures am I meant to use. I feel like 1/4 oz jigs and frogs are too small to get a good long cast

Bought as a gift. is a very long rod but nice. little hard to travel with since it doesn't come apart.

It working . Reel Handle bending. A little sad. Packaging needs improvement.
