Fantastic Quality and Look
My 8 year old son bought this with his own allowance and he is so proud! He loves that it's made of metal. He has a lot of toy guns, but this one is the one that he is actually proud of and he eagerly shows it to anyone that will look! It works wonderfully well. At first we were concerned because we didn't realize that it takes 12 shot rings and apparently they are impossible to find (at least on Amazon and in California). But my son, mini engineer that he is, quickly figured out that he can cut and fit 1 1/2 8-shot rings, which he already had, and it fires perfectly. :)

I'm sold on Parris Mfg. Cap Guns.
My understanding is that this American Made reproduction cap pistol was a cooperate effort between Parris Mfg. and a major cap gun manufacturer and dealer. When I was a kid it wasn't difficult to find "American Made" toys on the shelves of the local store. These days it's a different story. When my oldest daughter became old enough to get interested in guns I bought her a lever action BB made by a famous American brand and was sadly disappointed to find out that it was made in China. Moving on, I really enjoyed cap gun wars, etc. when I was younger and wanted a good caps pistol to have cap gun fights with my kids and provide some basic level of firearm safety training with them prior to actually letting them handle a real firearm. I bought a couple plastic guns from a retail chain store, they were made in China, and while they are decent for their price, they don't seem like they will last very long. The search was on for something more substantial. I had heard of Parris Mfg. a couple years ago while searching for American Made toy rifles, I didn't find anything that was reasonably priced, but I did learn that Parris Mfg. was bring in good quality Spanish made cap pistols. Generally they get good reviews but I still wanted something American Made. Flash forward, to about a week ago, and my search for a good, metal, American Made, cap gun had led me to the Parris Maverick. This replica cap pistol is made from the 1950s-era moulds used for the original. It has a good weight and feel to it and most people I have shown it to were impressed with the overall appearance. Fit and finish are good, but a little extra de-burring could have taken place on some edges as there is still a little moulding flash present on certain parts. Not a big deal but it does detract a little from the pistol overall. The trigger pull is good and I am sure that my oldest wont have any issues pulling the trigger. The Maverick uses roll-caps, which I am not a fan of; they tend to be more quiet (therefore less impressive when fired) and do not always reliably go off when stuck. Still, that was the technology of the time and they work well enough. The barrel was capped with an ugly little orange tip which, for some reason, also had a front sight on it. Luckily that was only pressure fitted and I was able to pull it right off (I will replace it with something less obnoxious). Overall, the pistol looks great, functions great (for using roll caps), is an excellent value, and importantly to me Americans are employed in manufacturing it. That means supporting American companies and workers. That may not matter to everyone though. The holster doesn't add much value to the purchase. I found it to be a tad cheesy and probably more functional for dress-up than for kids having a cap gun war or playing cowboys. There isn't anything really objectionable to the contruction of the holster, since it is meant to be a toy, but the belt isn't overly functional due to poor material thickness and contruction. If your child is going to use the holster for play, I would recommend rigging it up to a normal trouser belt or something similar. In the end I am very happy with the purchase. While the original Maverick was well before my time, I did own quite a few cap guns (even some diecast models) and I came to appreciate a quality cap-firing side arm. The Parris Mfg. Maverick takes me back to my childhood and will provide my children with a taste of what it was like to be a kid when society was a bit less uptight. You really can't put a price on that but, if you could, this cap pistol would seem like a bargain in comparison.

Willing to pay for quality
This cap gun is heavy - solid and looks well made. I love the way the caps load - so much easier than the slide open door. HOWEVER, it does not auto feed the paper cap rolls after shooting. You have to pull the paper for the next shot. I had loads of cap guns as a kid. Loved the sound and smell of the shot going off. I know sometimes, there's a dud shot or the paper gets jammed. But this thing does not manually feed the paper to the next shot. And for close to $30, I expected better. But at least the thing is solid metal. My son can just throw it at the bad guys. :-/

100% Perfect 10/10 Prop Revolver
I absolutely love it and it’s perfect and sturdy and a great replica and fun to play with. The only issues I have are that the holster strap is very short and couldn’t fit a teenager. Second, I found it quite inconvenient that it did not come with the poppers that it shoots even though it was not my focus, it was still unfortunate. And finally, I don’t like it that it’s only pull back on the hammer and it is just like when you pull the trigger. I want to be able to cock it, then shoot, and repeat like a normal one. But overall, it’s great and exceptional.

Great quality
This was ordered for my God baby’s 1st birthday and the theme was Rodeo! This went perfect. Only thing is, this was not for adult size adult only children or small waist.

Son is really happy with this toy. Weight distribution is good and it seems well built.

This "made in Italy" full metal capgun six shooter replica revolver is, in my opinion, the best quality capgun replica available on amazon.ca!!! I collect vinatge and new airguns as well as antique and new capguns, and this item is the nicest modern product that I have bought for under $40! It shoots the most available 8-shot ring caps that can be bought at your local dollar stores.

Good quality, seemed to last my kids playing with it for months but the one I got didnt like the dollarama store 8 round caps. It would fire half or just randomly. Maybe a different brand cap would work better. Overall not a bad gun that kids can twirl and has the plastic holster and belt that held up fine after months. ***UPDATE: Still working fine after 4-5 months of use. It was dropped many times. The plastic catch that hold the cylinder in is still ok and working fine. The dollarama 8 shot caps work for the most part. It could just be my gun but it doesnt always fire all the caps. If you put them in without pushing all the way in it seems to work best. Also hard for a kid to reload, you need something pointy like a little screwdriver to get the caps out. We had many of the dollarama plastic $1.50 cap guns and they work great for a week and then a weak part inside breaks and its garbage. Plus you cant twirl it. Overall, nothing is perfect but at least this is a good quality steel realistic looking cap gun they can keep for years. Tip: Check the screws and snug up after a month or two.
