I recently had the pleasure of diving into the "Cryptic Killers Unsolved Murder Mystery Game," and let me tell you, it exceeded all my expectations. This game is an absolute gem, a perfect blend of entertainment, mystery, and immersive storytelling. From the moment you open the package, you're drawn into a world of intrigue and suspense. The attention to detail is astounding; the evidence, from eyewitness statements to letters and even online videos, feels incredibly real. The creators have clearly poured their hearts into making this an authentic and immersive experience. The game is perfect for date nights, family gatherings, or just some quality time with friends. It's designed to be engaging for both couples and larger groups, and it excels at keeping everyone on their toes. The challenge level is just right – it's not so easy that you'll breeze through it, but it's also not overly frustrating. It strikes that sweet spot that keeps you hooked from start to finish. This is a well thought out murder mystery, the fact you have to access clues via the Internet or on your phone makes it a bit more realistic and fun. We did have to use a couple of hints or we'd have been a whole lot longer completing it but we did manage about 2.5 hours of fun. Better than what's on offer on the box and about the same price as a night at the cinema.

Had to change my birthday plans at the last minute due to bad weather, and needed an activity my husband and I could do at home that would fill the time. I'm a lover of true crime and after some searching I came across cryptic killers. I was sold after reading the reviews, and now after completing it ourselves I just had to leave a review! Firstly- the quality of it all is outstanding. Both the physical documents and the online ones are incredibly well thought out and are of a really good standard. It really added to the realism and the desire to solve the case! Without giving too much away, the way it is laid out is really clever as well. It felt less like a story, and more like a real case file! I'll admit it took us nearly four hours to crack the case 🙈 but we did solve it in the end which felt incredibly rewarding! Even my husband, who is much less of a true crime enthusiast than me, thoroughly enjoyed it. There were parts that played to both of our strengths which was great! It certainly took longer than expected, but we honestly didn't notice the time passing as we were so engrossed. Perfect way to end my birthday and will definitely be trying more cases in the future 👏

This is the second cryptic killers game I have ever played, the first being 'Murder at Merivale Manor' which I would rate a 5/5. I absolutely loved playing this game and I played it with my partner (the same person who i played my first cryptic killers game with) for my birthday. As someone who loves music and murder mysteries, I was very excited to delve into this game and have a fun time and a fun time I had! The evidence included in this game was VERY high quality, all but 1 piece of evidence feels like real-life reports, analysis and evidence and the materials for some of these pieces just feel so incredibly well-made and satisfying! There was only one piece of evidence where the photo looked a bit fake, but that was one single photo out of all the rest of the evidence found in this game. I think the difficulty level being a 4.5/5 was accurate. Me and my partner took maybe 6 hours as opposed to the 3.5h stated, but that is to be expected as these games can be played solo or in varying sized groups which would certainly change the play time and that is not a problem for me at all. The one thing that is making this a 4/5 rather than a 5/5 like the murder at merivale manor is that not all the pieces of evidence felt as useful or 'complete' as the first cryptic killers I played. In merivale manor, every piece of evidence, even the ones that were red herrings or misleading contributed to our investigation for the real killer/(s) - whether it was to give a suspect an alibi or to find the real explanation behind a rumour created by some pieces of evidence that masked the real truth. But in the murder of a musician, there were physically quality pieces of evidence that were irrelevant to the investigation and weren't even part of any clever red herrings, it was just cool pieces of evidence that meant nothing. THAT is the only reason I am not giving it a 4/5, because everything else if phenomenal, all the evidence (physical and online) were fantastic, the murder was very fun to solve, but I wish the evidence all came together as perfectly as in merivale manor. I am aware that in real life, criminal cases will not have evidence that all fits perfectly together, but in this case the 'realism' of it just didn't make as much of a satisfying experience as the previous cryptic killers game I played. With that said, I have done quite a few escape rooms, watched a few murder mysteries in my time and I have to say this is my first form of puzzle-solving mystery experience I have ever done and will be buying another cryptic killers game right after I finish this review! You can take your time figuring this out as there is no time limit, the hints provided you don't have to use and me and my partner only ever used hint ONCE and it did not give anything away, so it did not ruin or spoil anything for us showing how well this game is made, so very well done to the cryptic killers team, I am very satisfied with this experience and look forward to more!

A good fun game but does take a bit of time. It helps that it's in two parts and there is a lot of detail to go through. Really enjoyed it and will definitely be getting another one at some point. Kept my daughter off her phone for a good few hours too!

And we weren't disappointed. We played this for our anniversary evening entertainment, and had an absolute blast. Seeing there's a total of 11 packs, and buying the movie theatre one for my sister, I think we'll be collecting them all. Well worth the fun.

Really enjoyed - you have all you need but really have to spend time putting it together! We did this over 2 nights and it was a good challenge. Highly recommend:-)

I just have to say WOW!! I am so so happy with this purchase! I am someone who LOVES board games but most of the time, I never have someone to play with. I have heard of Hunt A Killer but the price?? Heck no. So I looked up good alternatives that are more wallet friendly and Cryptic Killers was the first to pop up. This game was SO AMAZING! I love that it was so easy to understand and get started, plus the actual case gives you so many resources for hints and help. They even make websites for the police detectives to share important case updates with you as you move along in solving. I absolutely loved the ease with which I could play as well as the hints page, in case I wanted to double check something or just got stuck. It took me about an hour and a half to complete this case and it was so worth it! Overall, the appearance and packaging is fantastic, the gameplay itself is amazing and super readable, and the best part is that you can play solo! I already bought the two bundles currently out on Amazon and cannot wait to get started. Thank you Cryptic Killers for making such an amazing game!

These are fun and well thought out. Have bought 3 now. Great for games nights with friends. Make sure you have a few hours to spare though. They're not easy.

Fun case! Helpful directions/guidance without giving away anything. Definitely an improved version from their earlier case studies; the suspects and documents are easier to follow and more straightforward. Definitely recommend—we were able to finish it with two people in a few hours.
