RCA Svideo to HDMI Converter with HD Cable(RCA and Svideo Integrated), CVBS Composite AV to HDMI Converter

Works as needed. Wanted a unit that had different analog inputs, especially S-video. This fits the bill and cheap enough.

Works as advertised! I used it for a Sony Hi8 HandyCam to hook it up to my new TV.

The instruction pamphlet is instructive and easy to read. Actually good English!I plugged the S video connector into my VHS/DVD player, the included HDMI cable into my receiver, and powered it. up. The DVD played perfectly the first try with the default 720p setting, albeit with the wrong aspect ratio. I changed the setting to 1080p with the same results. Old 4:3 ratio video is stretched to 16:9 ratio, giving everyone a rather fat appearance. Wide screen DVDs display correctly.Since I primarily bought this converter to keep access to non Blu-Ray compatible media (think VHS tapes), it's acceptable. If you must have the correct aspect ratio displayed, that may not happen with this convertor.

The converter works well to take older RCA connections and integrate them into HDMI format. Both video and audio signals are output to my new TV via HDMI input as hoped. It serves as a great bridge of technologies keeping my older player equipment functional and playing through newer TVs.

For years I have been relying on an old style magnifying camera with a 19 inch CRT monitor to read documents, as I ama VIP (vision impaired person). I wanted to upgrade to a modern device with a larger flat screen monitor, but did not want to spend the thousands of dollars that upgrade would require. I have an extra HP 32 inch flat screen monitor that I wanted to hook up to the old camera, but needed an adapter to connect the camera S video output to the monitor HDMI input. So I ordered this adapter. So far so good. The image is not as clear as on the old CRT, but it is larger. And the flat screen monitor is cooler and more efficient. So I'm going to give it a try.

I have an old Bose receiver and a new TV that does not carry component ports. That's why I bought this adapter. I disregarded the pamphlet that came with the converter and figured I was savvy enough that even a caveman could figure it out. Well I failed the IQ test. This is powered by your USB port even though it goes to your HDMI port. The pamphlet clearly shows you that. I should have read it first. Once installed and powered up it worked perfectly. So save yourself some aggravation and read the pamphlet first unless you're tech savvy. ps There is a tiny switch on the line itself that gives you a choice of 720P OR 1080p resolution. It's easy to not notice it. But it is working beautifully now after a shaky start. Happy with product.

Sometimes its hard to write a review when everything worked exactly as described, We watched old VHC-S tapes on an HDMI TV and it worked perfectly and quality was excellent. Ive read other reviews to the contrary but our experience was great. Very satisified!

Product arrived with no power cord. I was delayed in setting up the equipment. When I did , there was no power cord with the item rendering it useless. I only discovered this after it was outside the return window.
