This has been my go-to for years. It helps shape and sculpt the hair more than actually locking it in place, which I like. It gives movement and a natural look. I usually apply it on dry hair, then finish with a light spray once everything is in place.

This is probably my favorite hair styling product of everything I've used in the past 7 years. Upsides: 1) It's light weight so your hair doesn't feel like anything 2) It's not sticky so your fingers won't be sticky throughout the day (you can still feel a tiny, ignorable amount) 3) It has a nice smell but also not a strong scent so you won't smell like anything 4) It's easy to apply given how easily it spreads (which ofc makes it a perfect pre-styler) 5) As advertised it's medium hold, which honestly is all you need for most men's hairstyles, and low shine, which again, should be what you aim for for most hairstyles 6) It's so affordable for such a well-rounder product DOWNSIDES: 1) The biggest downside is this product is not entirely water-soluble. Meaning you might need shampoo to get it out of your hair entirely, at least that's what chatgpt says 2) It's not the best post-styler, but that's fine - rarely does a product function both as a pre-styler and a post-styler. I've tried products that were advertised to do both (blumaan) and they sucked at being a post-styler 3) Because it's not sticky, it's not the best at allowing you to restyle your hair throughout the day. Again I think this downside is a reasonable trade-off, especially if you work an office job or just don't run around in the day

This hair paste is the best I’ve used, and I’ve kept it stocked in my bathroom for years. It goes on very light and is a great way to texture your hair. Follow it up with some hairspray and you’ll be set for the day. Lasts fairly long and smells great. Not too shiny like some other products

This is good, cheap and effective. My hair looks good, holds well and is not sticky or oily. The only downside is it's quite hard to clean off my hands once I've applied it to my hair! But overall it's worth that minor annoyance.
