Awesome and easy to use IF you assembly correctly.
I'm not one to read directions, so after a couple of up and down plunges it got awfully hard to force water out. I opened it up to see if something was clogged and figured out the correct assembly. And it's clearly stated in the directions, had I bothered to read them first. You must make sure the filter/screen is very securely attached to the rubbery valve, it takes a push and a twist, cus if it isn't the filter is sucked up away from the valve and the water discharge stroke - downward stroke - is pretty stiff and hard, sometimes taking real force. If the scree/filter moves while you're plunging up or down, it's on incorrectly. If you see debris accumulating on the outside of the screen, it's on incorrectly. It's super to move the plunger up and down when everything is lined up correctly. And once it it, it stays that way. Until you open it to clean out the filter. It's very very easy to use, requiring no force or strength at all. Holds a lot of debris, though not large leaves which are best netted out. It gets a lot of area in a sweep is you move it along as you are pulling the plunger. I'm really impressed. I had one years ago, don't remember the brand, and this is way way way better and easier to use and does a much better job.

Sandy bottom
We have pavers around our hot tub, so even with a mat sand still sticks to our feet. The wand just cleaned all the fine paver sand Jo from the bottom of the hot tub. I’m impressed.

Works, but tediously
I've tried three different vacuums for my small (4 foot diameter) backyard pool connected to a hand built waterfall. My problem is that sand and leaves accumulate in the pool, and it is difficult to remove the debris by hand. The leaves are not so much a problem as I can scoop them up in my hand or with a small net, but if I touch the sand, it becomes dispersed in the water. This one, though it does work, cleans only about the area of its head, around 3 inches in diameter, at a time. You place it on the bottom and draw back the plunger and the sand directly under the head will go into the vacuum's chamber. The one that I had that was similar had a removable screen that immediately fell apart, making it useless. This one has a more durable screen and removing it and cleaning it is easy enough. The vacuum will not pick up leaves very well, or not very many until it becomes clogged. So, while this works, it takes quite a bit of time to go 3 inches at a time over a four foot diameter pool. Plus, the action of moving the unit in and out stirs up the sand a bit. I've found that it takes about three or four times over the entire pool bottom before I get it cleaned enough, and then it will remain that way until the next wind blows more sand into the pool. I don't know if there is an ideal product for the situation I (and I'm sure many others) am in. The big units are overkill or won't fit and the small ones are very limited in their actions. This is the best I've found so far.

A must for spa owners
I have a large swim spa and this thing is a life saver. While a net is good for big items in your water the finer debris that collects over night is not easy to get with a net, this things sucks it up fast! In the hot Florida sun I get about 2-3 years out of these before the plastic starts to crack. If you are in an environment that is not as hot or keep it inside it would probably much longer.

This thing rules
Its so fast and easy to use. Not having to deal with power or water connections is awesome and it works great. I bout it for our hot tub, but also use it for our 15' above ground pool. It has totally replaced the vac I normally used in the pool (which was a real pain to connect). I do worry a little about it being flimsy - I almost bought the "pro" fiberglass version, but there were many negative reviews talking about pieces becoming unglued. This one works GREAT and hopefully will hold together.

Flimsy Materials, Good Design.
I purchased this item to clean the stairs and buddy seating area of my in-ground pool. I immediately returned the item because the wide end adaptor would not stay on--it repeatedly fell into the water. Although the product is well designed, the plastic used in this model strikes me as very flimsy and prone to breakage. Therefore, after returning this model, I purchased the slightly more expensive yellow "pro" model, the body of which appears to be fiberglass. It is heavier weight and more substantial. It is otherwise virtually the same as this blue model in design and function. The wide end adaptor also fits tighter and has not yet fallen off during use.

somewhat useful
It's difficult to operate even though it's completely manual! Works a little bit.

Great for small jobs
Used for small pond, adequate suction for dirt & small stones...easy to operate & clean. 100% portable, no need for batteries or electrical hook-up, but suction handle mechanism is cheaply made - pricey for subpar for overall material construction.
