Unfortunately it is only 4” In width. I would have liked it if it was at least 1-2” wider. Otherwise, the only solution is to use it vertically and cut the excess off. But then you have lots of seams :(.

I purchased this mold with the intention of saving time and energy. The mold is difficult to use and it’s very time consuming. I used this mold to create ruffles for a peppa pig cake. I used approximately 6 pieces of fondant (mold design) to wrap around a 8x5 cake. If you want the ruffles to reach the top/edge of the cake, make sure you’re cake is 4” tall. Make sure to apply shortening and powdered sugar to the mold to remove the fondant. Evenly and firmly press down on the fondant to make sure you get even impressions. After removal, allow the fondant to harden for approximately 25-30 minutes for easier application. Allowing the fondant to slightly harden will help with application onto the cake and not ruining your ruffle design. It takes a lot of practice and patience. I hope this information/review helps anyone.

I was very skeptical about this working and thought it was a bit pricy but my daughter wanted a cake done with some sort of ruffle for my granddaughter and I wanted to make it as easy as possible for me to do so I spent the money I hopes it would work like they said and it really did. I was happy with it. The cake came out great! I still think it is very costly for what it is though.I suggest you watch the video on how to do it that is listed in the directions.

I struggle a bit at the begging to take it out of the mold but with a bit of cornstarch was better. Wish the texture would be a little more deep but the final look was good!. And time saver!!
