Effective in the event of fire alarm
I bought this product after suffering with days of dizziness, ringing in my ears and headache after just short exposure to the fire alarm in my apartment. But before you think I'm a coward, you should know that I've been to Nascar without ear protection and had fewer problems than i had with my fire alarm. It is literally the loudest thing i ever heard and it made me physically sick. My dad even made the crude joke that he would rather burn than be tormented with the noise. And yes I did evacuate the building, however it took a few extra minutes because I have pets that I also have to save. It has only ever been test alarms so far, but I made the decision that it is vital to protect my ears from permanent damage during these tests. I keep these earphones next to my bed, along with earplugs, to be worn in the event of a fire drill whilst I am securing my animals to be evacuated. At this point, with the excruciatingly loud alarm (and you don't think about the dangers of loud noise until in the moment when youre exposed to it), I can honestly say I'm more concerned with ear damage than with fire; my main reason for leaving the building has now become to protect my ears. And this is not meant to be humorous, I'm being serious. Earmuffs like these are a must in the event you are exposed to loud sound; overly loud sound can cause tinnitus, dizziness, and permanent hearing loss. I can only imagine what it is like for those with small children and babies. These muffs were super effective...I tested them while watching TV on high volume and none of the noise came through. I feel safe knowing these are within arms reach to protect myself.

Good Purchase
I don’t use these as ear protection, but more as a sensory tool. They help me focus when doing homework and block out a lot of background noise. They don’t slip very easily and they’ve lasted me a few years.

Great value for the money
When I'm listening to my book at the gym, the piped in music is so loud that I can't hear the book while I'm exercising. I don't want to increase the volume as I already wear hearing aids and don't want to continue to blast my eardrums with loud noise. I was in a delimma as to what to do: buy $400 bluetooth head phones or buy something that can fit over my hearing aids so I don't have to increase the volume. I'm so glad I purchased these noise cancelling headphones for autism for $19 as they work perfectly. They're black, which looks like any other headphones, and they immediately block out the outside noise when I put them on. The instructions say not to put them over glasses, but I find they work fine over my glasses. They fit very snugly and I have to make adjustments for that, but it's been easy to adjust so far. They don't slip and they allow me to keep my volume at a normal level. I would definitely buy again.

Good enough for Monster Truck rally
Got these for my kids since we were going to Hot Wheels Monster truck show. My kids didn't complain once about the noise. They did take them off at one moment to see how loud it actually was and they quickly put them back on. We were five rows from the front and they were not affected by the noise. Definitely worth the money. It fit my smaller child and older one. My oldest said they were comfortable but does not like the design.

Great for my son with autism!
My 25 year old son does not like loud noises or multiple people talking. This can be a problem especially while attending a Day Program. These headphones are excellent. He is able to wear them all day over his glasses with no behind the ear issues. A+

Constructive criticism - pros and cons.
Hi, I don’t usually give reviews because I don’t find them helpful. This is a neutral review. Pro - these would best be used for a child sized head. They’re sealed tight for that size. Also, do offer some noise cancellation. However, I’m a female with a regular sized head. Con- they easily break (because the are entirely made of the plastic). I had them for two months before one earpiece broke off, I fixed that one with superglue, and surprisingly it’s still holding! Unfortunately, when the second earpiece snapped off, no amount of glue could fix that. I bought these because the internal fire alarm was causing problems in my apartment complex. And if you know what that sounds like, then you’ll understand that it’s ear piercing! I received about 4/5 months of use.. until they became completely useless. Good value, but, buyer beware. Note- If I were to review about the shipping/supplier, I would give them an A+. They were delivered on time and very well packed. Thank you.

Dulls Noise
I get overwhelmed by loud sounds, particularly when I'm in a crowd or trying to focus (like when reading a book). While these ear muffs don't block sound entirely, they do dull it. The loud WHIIIIIRR of a vacuum cleaner becomes a tolerable whiiiiirr, the loud performance in a crowd becomes less overwhelming (though definitely still audible), and the quiet ambient noises around me (the ticking of a clock, the chirping of crickets, the scratch of a pencil on paper) fade away. Again, not to nothing- but they fade enough that I can concentrate. YMMV. It's difficult to describe how much it affects noise around you, but I might liken it to covering your ears- and these are generally going to be more socially acceptable than that. They don't help as much with, say, overlapping conversation in the room around you because you will still likely be able to hear what's being said, and words are one of the more distracting sorts of noises in my opinion. They do feel a bit cheap (indeed, they are a bit cheap, but I'm grateful for the affordability), but they're comfortable enough (I think personally I could wear them for up to an hour before needing a break from them), easy to adjust, and small enough I can fold them and fit them in my purse. So I'd say they're a good deal for what they are.
