DR Quality Parts Replacement Part for WR50X10068 Defrost Thermostat -For GE Refrigerators (AP3884317, PS1011716)

Worked as expected. Probably should buya backup now in case I have another issue a few years down the road then I wont need to wait ona repalcement. (But Im lazy and probably wont)

Received a day earlier than guaranteed. Replaced this along with the defrost heater and temperature sensor and now the refrigerator is working like new. All parts bought from Amazon.

I still not sure if this was the problem. I replaced this (easy task) but a few weeks later the same problem. Maybe i did not defrost the panel completely and therefore the heater did not work properly but I don't know that for sure. I ended up changing the heater weeks later. My recommendations is to change both pieces which not expensive (about 20) and you have to do it only once if you are not sure where the problem is. You can Google or Youtube for instructional videos (very helpful).

good part ,,,cheapest price .. hard to make profit when part are so high ...Job would have not toke so long ( 1/2 hour) but i had to switch the doors from right open to left open (1 1/2 hour job total

Thought my problem was my thermostat.This was really the problem,refrigerator kept freezing up and blocking the freezer defrost drain, and froze the refrigerator compartment closed. Once I installed this, the refrigerator was back to its old self,34 degrees, and -10 in the freezer. Bought a wireless thermostat and used it to monitor it,worked perfectly to confirm everything was working properly.

Received the part in "off the shelf" good condition. However, in a bench test prior to installation, the new part proved to be defective. The thermostat is supposed to "close" when cold (so it turns on the defrost element). This part is closed all the time regardless of the temperature. I could not get it to "open". I gave feedback to the supplier (DR Quality Parts) and am waiting for a response. I will update this review if anything changes.
