GAMEMAX 850W Power Supply, Fully Modular, 80 Plus Gold, ARGB SYNC with Motherboard, RGB-850 Pro

I bought this for a recent build. I love the 80 Plus Gold rating! This thing looks great, isn't loud, and love the modular aspect of it! 850w is enough to handle most needs. This pushes a 3060, Ryzen 9, 6 case fans, and a ton of peripherals without skipping a beat! Super happy with my purchase!

Purchased back in July of 2023 for a 13900 + 4090 build which is... thirsty for power This thing is a tank, no issues whatsoever - notably and especially nothing to report during the whole 13th gen power draw debacle. I was hesitant to grab a PSU for such a premium build from a company that doesn't rhyme with Smorsair or Smeasonic but I'm pleased that I did! The literature and online information is adequate to get set up and the modularity is decent. The cables aren't quite what I'd call "premo", however one can find a myriad of solutions here on Amazon or elsewhere for sprucing up their aesthetic. At the end of the day you need clean, consistent power provided to your components and this PSU does the job! Highly Recommend

Just install this power supply into any computer, and boom! Anybody within a 500-foot radius will hear the loud noises from the power supply, shriek, and run far far away. My house is now free from all mosquitoes, termites, cats, annoying roommates, and more! (Detailed version) I was building an AMD RGB computer for a friend on a budget, and I was looking for a cheap PSU. This was one of the cheapest power supplies I could find on Amazon for this price point, so I went ahead and purchased it. The installation was easy; the PSU has worked flawlessly for her so far. I loved the look of the PSU in her computer, and at that time the PSU in my computer was starting to fail. I bought another GAMEMAX PSU for myself. Initially, the PSU worked great. It looked awesome in my RGB computer case, and it shot out tons of air out the back. Over time, though, the PSU started having problems. The fan would vibrate, stop, and make a high-pitch buzz, and my computer would frequently crash. As I was still in the 1-month return period, I gave GAMEMAX the benefit of the doubt and returned it, replacing it with the same PSU. My second PSU (that I am using now to type this review) hasn't had the same issues as the first. The fan still makes the vibrating noise (it must be typical for this PSU) but I don't have frequent crashes. Overall, 2/3 of these power supplies have worked for me. I would recommend this if you are on a strict budget but not if you can afford a PSU from a more reputable brand. Additional note: the PSU's eco mode is a button switch and not a flip switch. Eco mode cannot be permanently turned off; it always turns on every time you boot the computer up. [Update] I just bought another one of these PSUs for a different computer and that one works fine; now 3/4 of these have worked for me. Several of them are still emitting very annoying noises, and I believe they are coming from a faulty fan. I wouldn’t recommend these for anybody; save up and get a better PSU instead.

**UPDATE 2/22/2021 - I ended up disputing with my credit card servicer to get my money back. PSU is still a POS and doesn't even make a decent doorstop. Pulled the PSU apart and the filters are cheap Chinese garbage and are bulging from the bottom. Decided to use it for target practice instead. **UPDATE 12/30/2020 - I replaced this power supply with an ACTUAL 80+ Bronze Cooler Master PSU. Resolved all my issues i had with stability and random shutdowns. I looked into the chassis of the PSU and the caps are bulging. It smells horrid (like ammonia). The company is impossible to get ahold of and they have not responded to my emails nor my calls (they have a foreign number, and i used a Cantonese speaking friend to translate. No response. Only buy this if you're willing to risk damage to your components. I thought I would cut costs with a new build (Ryzen 7 2700 & RTX 2070 with 32GB 3600mhz RAM) since this power supply said it was 80 Plus certified. Worked great and noticed that it “almost” reached the same core clocks that my older TT power supply had. After a while the overclocks became more unstable and I kept pulling the frequency back for cpu and gpu. Now the power supply just cuts off randomly. It will drop voltage significantly to the CPU 8 pin and then cut off. Tested with multimeter and another power supply. Seems like the components used aren’t built to last. I will eventually pull it apart to see if I can see bulging filters. NOTE: I had this power supply pulling fresh air from the outside of the chassis from the bottom with ample space. I’m in a non-smoking house with pets. The power supply air intake is filters with a mesh filter I installed. There is no dust choking the intake (pertaining to this review) I would avoid this product. It was also disappointing it has two pci e spots for gpu/addl cpu but they only provide one cable for pcie power. Save yourself the trouble and spend a little more to get a way better deal. There isn’t even phone support in the United States. You have to call out to Asia. Installation was okay but the connectors are cheap and will chip ( happened to two of my sata connectors and had to tape them with electrical tape to prevent shorts). The clips to lock onto the female connector also are weak and you have to force them to close and ‘’marry”. The RGB effect isn’t controllable except for turning it off (you hold the ECO button for 5 seconds) but it won’t hold that setting after you turn off the pc. Same with the ECO mode. Please avoid this power supply.

Please don't buy this. I bought it in September 2023 and the unit died in August 2025. I emailed the customer support to get the warranty, and they respond within 2 weeks and send me a new one.

At first it put off a electronic/plastic smell for about 3 days then it went away, This if normal for lower priced parts, However its been running in a Gaming PC with a z390 and 9700k with a RTX3070 for months now without any issues at all, I would recommend for any budget gaming pc.

after adding another harddrive to my computer, it started acting erradically --- my computer friend says that my old 450w power supply did not have enough power to run my computer. I bought this power supply, installed it in minutes, and now my comptuer is running really well! It is much quieter than my old power supply as well.

After reading some reviews on this PSU I was a little skeptical but with a tight budget and I gave it a shot and it was certainly one of the best decisions in my build. With the package was a testing tool to ensure the PSU was working properly before installation, I really liked this as it provided me with a sense of security. Furthermore, when it comes to functionality the semi-modular design is great it provides ample cables with ample length for proper cable management. Lastly, the RGB is always a nice touch although I have my PSU exhausting downwards the RGB still shines through the back grating where the PSU is screwed in, it really adds a nice touch with a light shining from behind my build. All in all great PSU!

It works, lights are unnecessary, but look good! Easy as pie to install.
