I've been doing my own freelance film work on a low budget for 13 years and I can safely say with the utmost confidence this is the best light I've ever purchased. The only thing that could possibly make it better would be a full RGB range, but I knew what I was getting into when I bought it so I don't hold that against the rating. The SmallRig RC 220B is easy to use and can even be controlled wirelessly from an app. For that feature alone, a light of this magnitude is more than worth the cost. Speaking of cost! For the price, this is a very powerful light. It's bright. Really bright. Which is exactly what I wanted. As soon as I can, I'm definitely buying another one.

I bought this in May 2022, and had so much fun using this light - lightweight, powerful, easy to use - sadly, now in Oct 2022, the light won’t stay on more than 30 seconds-1 minute. It would shut off saying “Fan Error.” Also, I noticed that during the 30 seconds-1 minute timeframe, the fan wouldn’t run even at the highest power. And it gets hot before it shuts down automatically. UPDATE (Oct 22, 2022): Reached out to SmallRig Customer Service and Alice at their department has been a great help and coordinated a quick shipment of a replacement. These lights are truly amazing, I travel a tremendous amount for my shoots and have not had lights this good and lightweight (I travel with two RC220Bs). And to see how responsive their department was is quite amazing, especially responding within 1 day. I'm hoping that they are able to resolve what the issue is with the light they replaced, because it's become my trusted, reliable set of lights.

Using the SmallRig RC 220B 220W Bi-Color LED Video Light has been a great experience for me as a filmmaker. Its bi-color range from 2700K to 6500K lets me easily adapt to different scenes, whether I need warm or cool tones. The light’s power—84500 Lux at 3.3ft—provides ample brightness for everything from close-ups to wider shots, and it’s impressively quiet during operation. The build is durable yet lightweight, making it easy to move around on set. Overall, it’s a versatile and reliable lighting solution that delivers professional results every time.

Fantastic buy, the only reason why I give it 4 stars is because when you insert an umbrella in the umbrella holder, the connection interferes with it, you have to push it to the side and it does not feel all that great. Otherwise this is a fantastic product and if this is not an issue for you, I recommend you buying one (or two).

Excellent light from smallrig, even though there is a new version that just came out (with then V-mount attached to the light itself), I still use this light regularly for any shoots that require it. Great light for avid videographers as well as studio professionals. It’s also nice to be able to match your white balance color to your shot. Very easy to use, also has an app! Not too pricey when bought on sale, and the size is moderate, compared to other lights out there. Great value for your money!

This light got some great options. I use this in all of my shoots and I can totally love it. Easy to setup and the bag has some good padding to support the light.

Worked fine for about 6 months and then wouldn’t come back in again. Unfortunately no easy way to reach the manufacturer regarding the product warranty.
