Delighted! - I've worn Atizona model Birks for many years and still have a 4-year old pair I love. Noticed, however, that the lack of a heel strap on the Arizona means that I tend to carry a certain amount of tension in my right foot, particularly on stairs or when walking the hills around my home in Breckenridge (CO). Decided to try the Milano model model (for its heal strap) and I couldn't be happier the choice: it doesn't feel confining at all, but handles the up and down treks with elan. Love them! I second the advice on many reviews to maintain your older Birks' midsole with a coating of cork sealer every six months or so, particularly if you wear them in damp or muddy conditions as I do. If it’s women’s size. Men’s are same just different sizes in EU. Hope this helps. **Q: I usually wear a 45, so I ordered a 13. I was sent a men’s 11.. was this an error in shipping, or do I need to order a different size altogether?** A: Size 45 is a size about a size 12 12-1/2. Size 13 should have been a 46. Looks like an 11 was an error and you should return for a correct pair. Whenever I order Berks I tend to order 2 different sized pairs with the intention of returning the ones that don’t fir as well. In your case, size 45 & 46. **Q: looking for euro size 43, is the 12/12.5 the same?** A: 12 or 12.5 if US size is mentioned its euro 45 You must look for US size 10 which matches euro 43 **Q: Leather upper?** A: It is hard to say, they are bonded on the back with some sort of other material. Excellent profuct. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very comfortable, needs more holes *by -***P on December 8, 2014* These are very comfortable sandals and grow more comfortable over time. I did have a problem with them fitting looser in the straps than i would like, even on the tightest setting hole. I ended up adding my own holes to get the straps as tight as i prefer. I will say that i like my shoes and sandals to fit snugly so there is no slop in them when i walk. If you don't mind a little looseness, they should work fine for you.
