It’s a great stain
This is a great stain. I use it almost every time I do my crafts. I actually dip my fingers in it and rub it on to give whatever I’m working on a rustic age look it’s very good. It’s very nice.

Works great, buttery smooth, deepens color
It has a smell that’s like shoe polish, as another reviewer mentioned. It made me wonder if it is, in fact shoe cream? It deepened the color of the chalk paint I used on one project, and deepened the color of the milk paint that I used on another, and it left a very slight satin finish, which is wonderful. I like that look of old painted antique items that has a bit of a sheen, not too much, just that hand worn sheen that comes with use of wood items over time, like old rake handles, old kitchen wood handled items…trying to recreate that with newly painted objects is a challenge for sure. All three pics are painted/distressed items that I have transformed with paint, sanding and this product as a topcoat. I used some on a little rusted metal container, it darkened it, but pleasantly so. I like the dark brown cast of this, it looks super grotty and old. The wax is a very fine silky paste that gets in the crackle effects of some of the painted objects that I enjoy working on. It really highlights those “defects” that I adore. Love this stuff, I will definitely keep this one handy.

I should have done it sooner!
So easy! I’ve thought about doing this for years, but thought it would be more complicated. I put 2 to 3 coats on because I wanted it darker. If you make a mistake simply wipe on more paste and immediately wipe off with a clean cloth. I messed up the top by trying to be too perfect. I had to “erase” the entire top. It was an easy fix. This is a dark to medium brown shade. I used it over cream colored Jungarian wood furniture paint. I love the results!

First time distressing - I like it
The first time I applied this, I mixed it with the regular Howard clear wax and within 2 hours it all faded to almost nothing. I had to reapply again but this time went straight from the jar. I really like the results. I also used the Howard light/clear wax for this project. Both products smell amazing. I recommend.

Wax
Arrived so fast, a good amount of wax. Haven't used it yet but did sample it onto a piece of wood. Looks like it will work great.

Awesome Product
I read the reviews before I purchased and for me, this wax did not dry too fast at all. I put it on with a wax brush in a circular motion pattern in a small area, waited 3-5 minutes per instructions and wiped off. Came out exactly as I had hoped. I waxed the next area while I was waiting for the first to dry. I laughed at the reviewer who said it looked like she rubbed dirt into her paint. That's a little of what it's supposed to look like. It's meant to antique and highlight texture and it does both wonderfully. It does have an odor going on, but I liked it - like orange oil. It finishes with a nice satin sheen. One thing I will mention - this is the first time I waxed anything and I thought the wax would darken the areas I antiqued - it really doesn't, so if you have a light wood, know this in advance. I ended up painting over some of my scuffed areas before waxing.

Works great!
I painted this lamp with brass paint but I want to look like well aged brass. Look great it came out!

Painted and then Antiqued and old table that a neighbor put out as a free giveaway! Turned out beautiful! Product easy to apply and wipe off to desired effect. Highly recommend.
