The Republic of Tea Blackberry Sage Black Tea | 50 Tea Bags, Gourmet Black Tea

It's a good tea. It's fruity and earthy without being pungent. It isn't bitter or tannin-y or anything like that. The smell is also quite lovely, and the tea itself is quite smooth. My previous friend had put me onto this tea brand, as the quality is quite good, and she herself is a huge fan of this tea. All of that being said, I'm not a huge fan of the flavor profile. It's good, but it's just not my favorite (I'm learning I don't care for fruity teas, I guess). You get a lot of tea bags for the price, so the value is great, and it could be a great gift if you have a tea lover in your life who likes fruity teas.

This tea has such a smooth, rich flavor with just the right balance of fruity blackberry and earthy sage. The aroma is incredible—fresh, slightly sweet, and calming. I love that it’s bold enough to enjoy hot in the morning but also refreshing iced in the afternoon. The tea bags come in a beautiful tin that keeps them fresh, and they don’t have that artificial aftertaste some flavored teas do.

I liked it but didn’t completely love it. The blackberry flavor was soft, not real strong. The sage was also very soft and almost not noticeable. When I have fruit teas, I like a stronger flavor their ginger peach is outstanding, and I was expecting it to be similar in strength of flavor, but still a good tea overall.

I’m a fan of black teas with one or two flavors, usually natural fruit and/or spice, and this does not disappoint. It’s not an in-your-face bold flavor, but rather more gentle, tea forward taste and a subtle blackberry and sage background. It makes it a great tea for me to drink with a meal, but it’s still nice to drink on its own. It’s pretty flexible, and everyone that I’ve served it to has also liked it a lot. It’s in my regular rotation as a smooth, easy to drink tea. I trust the brand for having decent quality tea leaves that’s fresh and well flavored with fruits, herbs, and spices.
