Terrific product, especially if you use reading glasses
This is a great product that I wish I'd bought years ago. It just never occurred to me that I needed it :) But now that I have it, I consider it indispensable for any camera with an LCD screen. My primary use for it is reviewing and quality-checking shots I've just taken on my DSLR while still in the field when adjustments and re-shots are still possible. I'm an older guy who wears contacts for distant vision and reading glasses for up close. The result is that while I can see perfectly when looking through the optical viewfinder, I can't see the LCD well enough to critically assess focus and composition -- even with my reading glasses. And in bright light, the LCD may be so washed out as to be useless. This loupe changes all that. With it, I can finally tell -- in the field -- whether a shot I've just taken is in focus and whether there might be a small distraction in the background that merits a re-shot. And I can make this assessment regardless of lighting conditions. To this latter point, since the loupe completely surrounds the LCD and shields it from ambient light, it's enormously useful when using live view to critically focus and compose regardless of lighting conditions, effectively serving the purpose of a focusing cloth on a view camera. My only negative about this product is the price, which seems a bit high for what it is. But it's well made, the lens appears to be of high quality, and it's a been a godsend for me. If I lost the one I bought, I'd buy another without hesitation.

Sent it back
Had to send it back, it needs a mounting mechanism. I tried it with my Nikon D800 and it was too much trouble holding it on the camera and it covered part of the Live View screen.

Difficult to use
Disappointed because this Loupe is difficult to position and view if you are using to compose a photo. I think the non magnifying one might work better for this, but you still need to be VERY dextrous to position the loupe, view the screen, and push the shutter button .

A Miraculous Invention!
The title sums it up. There’s not much more to say about the effectiveness and the quality of this device. For Christmas, I got a nice Samsung NX500 camera. It’s a fine entry level 35 mm digital camera. It’s got everything you need EXCEPT a viewfinder. The first thing you’ll learn about any digital camera without a viewfinder is that the big, beautiful LCD screen is worthless in bright sunlight. It’s not just hard to see. It’s invisible. This device solves that problem 110%. It fits the screen perfectly. The soft rubber won’t harm the LCD, and it totally blocks out ALL sunlight. The brightness of my LCD now remains at its lowest setting, so my battery lasts forever. I wear fairly powerful reading classes. Not a problem. The diopter adjustment deals with that perfectly. I can read the smallest print in the camera menus with total clarity. BTW, you’ll need something to attach this to the camera unless you have 3 hands or a houseful of rubber bands and/or wire ties. I purchased both the Hoodman HSLRM Straps and the Hoodman HCRN HoodCrane. The straps work perfectly fine. Maybe someday I’ll try the HoodCrane.

Does Exactly What It Says It Does
This is an excellent product. It does two things extremely well. First of all, it allows review of images on the LCD screen in bright light with a magnification that allows checking focus. Secondly, it makes it simple to focus in live view when shooting from a tripod. There is a small amount of distortion at the edges, but this does not affect the focusing at all. The product is light weight and is easly carried around the neck so it is always handy. If you have trouble using manual focus in dim light where the autofocus tends to search, using this product with live view will solve all your problems.

Gives me a good viewfinder with my Nikon P900 superzoom
I absolutely love this thing! I have a Nikon P900 superzoom which doesn't have a decent viewfinder. I bought this thinking I'd only use it in bright sunlight when the screen is hard to see but it turns out I prefer to use it all the time because I can see if I'm in focus so much more clearly. I also use it on my Nikon D3300 when I'm trying to take video in bright sunlight since I can't use the viewfinder for that. I have found it's pretty easy to hand hold it and still hold my camera with both hands and work all the controls, even though I have very small hands. Love it, wish I'd known about it sooner! I'd add that I was initially confused by loupe's that said "magnifying" vs those that didn't - I can only say that I see very clearly through this and it's easy to tell it's in focus.
