Cute, comfortable, great for summer in hot climates!
I love these shoes. I wear a size 9 narrow, these are medium, bit I think the little bit of extra room from narrow to medium is going to work out fine when my feet swell from the hot Central Texas summers. The toe box is generous, no chafing or rubbing on toes, also will be good when feet swell from the heat. They have a Mary Jane look to them, I would say true to size, not too narrow and not too wide, I'm a 9 and they're a 9. They seem like they would wash well, especially since I'll be wearing them without socks, seems like they could easily get wet (beach, gardening, boating) without a problem. Now for the dreaded strap across the top of the foot. This strap didn't work for several reviewers, but I've worn the shoe for several hours now without a problem from the strap. That being said, I don't have high arches and I'm putting a narrow foot into a medium shoe. The strap seems to "give" a little as I wear them. They are pricey, but the quality is there. They work well if you have a job where you can wear sandals, but they must have a "closed toe", hard to find.

Measure your feet then order half size up.
I measure just hardly under a 5 on my left foot and just hardly over a 5 on my right. I measure between B and C width. I ordered a 5.5. They fit perfectly. The strap has a tiny bit of elastic on one side just to make the strap not tug when you walk. The strap can flip to the back if you want it to be a flat instead of a maryjane. I can't keep the shoe on like that though but it's cute. I suggest going in to a shoe store (I went to The Walking Company in the mall where I live) and get your feet measured. Round up to the nearestnearest half size based off of this. They're true to size but when talking about what size you measure at.I saw a lot of negative posts about the strap not fitting. I don't have any issues, fits perfectly. I like the snap. So easy to fasten.Only downside is I feel like my arches are falling in. I have seriously high arches and don't really touch the built in support. I usually wear lots of arch support though so I'm just not used to this feel. They're still comfortable though.I plan to use these as a travel shoe. They're super versatile but can also get wet.

Took a chance and lost on the non-adjustable strap, trimmed it off and kept the shoe!
First of all, I love the way the shoe looks and feels; the large toe box is wonderful to keep pressure off my big toe nailbed. But why on Earth would anyone make a nonadjustable strap?? I knew this was the big problem but everyone kept saying the strap was too loose so I took a chance because I really liked the shoes and love Teva brands overall, but the strap is too tight on me ( I am plus sized). Its hard to get it snapped and when its snapped, I can tell it is too tight and will cause my feet to swell as it impedes circulation back to my heart. That being said, I like the shoes so much that I am on the web surfing for snap extenders (pretty much, just for boat covers, it looks like) or anything else I can do to make this work for me. (Weight loss is already in play but I want to wear them now, not when I've lost 50 pounds). I think I am going to buy some heavy duty snaps and the tool and get a small leather strap and see if I can make my own extender.Or return them, I haven't decided. :(October 2016 update: I kept the shoes and wear them almost everyday because they're comfortable and convenient. I just trimmed the damn strap off and wear them without it. They stay on my feet just fine. But they're so easy to just slip on in a second and go. So I am adding a star because they are just fine without the strap and just as cute. At first they irritated a nerve on the top of my foot where they hit it, but my skin soon "toughened up" or became desensitized to it.Taking off 2 stars for this design flaw instead of one because this may be a deal breaker. Wow, an adjustable strap would have made them fit everyone. Unbelievable.

Quick shipment. Love the feel and design. Good looking. STRAP BROKE immediately.
Great fitting shoe for comfort. The strap is a little long, I'm going to see if it can be shortened. Very supportive, comfortable shoe.HOWEVER, i've had these shoes one week. On day 6, the strap that connects the front to the back broke out of the shoe and needs to be sewn and glued by a shoe repair. This is my second pair of these shoes, the last pair is still in great shape and they are more than a year old. These new shoes aren't made as well as the old ones that have traveled widely and been used in water. In the photo is the previous 2-year-old shoe showing heel wear, bottom photo is the new 6-day-old shoe with strap that came loose, sewing and glue didn't hold.Shoes returned with Amazon no hassle defective product return. They are replacing the shoes, will wear immediately and watch for this known defect. I also wrote to Teva, because as a long-time customer, I found their product to be no longer reliable.

Thanks, TEVA for bringing this style back!
This Northwater style is a modified version of the Westwater which was released at least 7 years ago. Two other versions happened in between, and I am a huge fan of this shoe in all of its lives. It is comfortable and can be worn as a hiking sandal, or with nice dresses; dress it up or down. I love the Slate color, and the Turkish coffee. The mesh parts of the Black are really more silver, and more contrasty than what I would have wanted from a black version to be able to dress it up. Some people hated the strap snaps on the Westwater, so TEVA replaced that with velcro on the 2 intervening models, and it worked great. The Northwater, however is back to a snap on the strap, which works for me, but it is NOT adjustable, as they describe it. The strap can be swiveled to the back of the shoe for a "pump" look, which I would call "convertable" and not "adjustable. The footbed of the Northwater is a definite improvement from the Westwater days - nicely cushioned and comfortable on city streets (my usual walking commute.) Even with the flaws of the current model, I'm glad it's back!!
