I love this edge control! I have it on subscription because it’s one of the few products I trust for my whole family. It’s free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, and petroleum — and still manages to work beautifully. On our curly 4c hair, it lasts about half the day. It doesn’t turn white in the hair like some other edge controls do, and it smells amazing. I use it to define parts when I’m doing my daughter’s hair and as our go-to edge control for everyone in the house. The hold is clean, soft, and natural-looking — not sticky or flaky. The label mentions silk protein and neem oil, and you can really tell it helps keep the hair smooth and healthy. Definitely a staple for us!

Easy to apply. Slicks hair edges down

This gel is great. It’s more like an edge control. The hold is great and it doesn’t flake, turn white and works well with other products. I use Bask & Lather hair balm all over my hair, the oil, mist and I spray my edges with minoxidil. The last step is to use this gel to brush my hair back. It holds my hair all day until bed at 11 to 11:30 PM. What I love the most is that will it holds the hair in place, the hair isn’t hard and I can do my daily routine (described previously) everyday without any flakes or my edges turning white; I love that it works great with my hair products. The bottle you get is quite small but it last. I bought this for both me and my daughter and it does a great job in keeping the hair in place. I definitely recommend this to anyone!

I was shopping in Ulta for their Textured hair sale and happened across this product. It smells SO good, just as advertised on the bottle so I purchased it, but sadly they only had 1, so I got the 2nd bottle off of Amazon. My hair is Type 3/4, very thick, long and can be stubborn so I usually use a maximum hold edge control gel and I was willing to give this a try. I started off in the morning, wore my natural hair in a side part, so I gelled my hair down heavily on the parted side, brushed it down, laid my edges, wrapped in a scarf for 5 minutes to set then took off the scarf. I then went about my day. I live in Florida so it's very humid and hot. Very few gels can stand the test of time because of that. By the end of the day it had melted😅 and 70% of my edges were poofed up. I tried it 3 different ways over the course of a week and here is my opinion: This IS an Edge gel though and it is GENTLE compared to others and I'd give it a 3.3/5 for the hold. I'd give it a 4/5 otherwise because it has a more gentle, quite moisturizing hold than most without causing build-up along the hairline and it leaves a very healthy shine on your hair afterwards (which I love) so you know its great if you want healthy hair and edges. It smells great and would likely do better for someone with Type 2/3, finer hair and that's IF you're in cooler weather. This will be my go-to during the winter months and I love it for what it is! Don't expect it to work like the Edge control on the Black & Gold bottle though, which leaves your hair crispy afterwards lol.

This gel holds my natural hair in place when wearing an up-do. It makes it look shiny and sleek. The only drawback is that it hardens my hair, and I need to wash it after using it. It also has a nice fragrance, which is great.

This gel works well for straightening frizzy hair, but my problem with this gel is that it leaves residue in the hair which is very difficult to get out, which makes me reluctant to use it.
