The gun can shoot several darts in a row, but you really have to pay attention when shooting so you don't accidentally shoot someone in the eye!! It does take 6 AA batteries that are not included so make sure you stock up on batteries so that when you get this in the mail or you give it as a gift they can play with it right away. This is a great item for a great price.
